Overview

The Allied A2700-B Monitor is a display unit designed for general computing and gaming, offering a user-friendly interface for setup and operation. Its primary function is to provide visual output from a connected computer, with features that allow users to customize the display to their preferences.

Function Description

The monitor serves as a visual interface for a personal computer, displaying images, text, and video content. It is designed to be easily assembled and connected, providing a straightforward plug-and-play experience for most users. The monitor supports a standard HDMI connection for video input and requires a power supply unit for operation. Users can adjust various display settings through an on-screen menu system, including brightness, aspect ratio, and refresh rate, to optimize their viewing experience for different tasks such as work, browsing, or gaming. The monitor's design emphasizes ease of use, with intuitive button controls for navigating the menu options.

Usage Features

The A2700-B Monitor is designed for simple and quick assembly without the need for any tools. Users can easily attach the monitor stand and base to the screen, which are designed to click securely into place. The stand also features a release mechanism for easy disassembly if needed.

The monitor's controls are located on the underside of the display, consisting of several buttons labeled M, Down Arrow, Up Arrow, E, and Power. These buttons serve multiple functions depending on whether the user is navigating a menu or performing a quick adjustment.

  • Power On/Off: The Power button controls the monitor's power state.
  • Regular Button Functions (non-menu):
    • M (Menu): When not in a menu, pressing M will display the Advanced Monitor Menu.
    • Down Arrow: In non-menu mode, this button displays the Basic Brightness Menu.
    • Up Arrow: In non-menu mode, this button toggles between 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios.
  • Within Basic Brightness Menu:
    • M (Exit Menu): Exits the Basic Brightness Menu.
    • Down Arrow (Brightness down): Decreases the screen brightness.
    • Up Arrow (Brightness up): Increases the screen brightness.
  • Within Advanced Monitor Menu:
    • M (Back / Exit Menu): Navigates back through menu levels or exits the menu entirely.
    • Down Arrow (Select Option): Moves the selection cursor down or changes a value down.
    • Up Arrow (Move up / Change value up): Moves the selection cursor up or changes a value up.
    • E (Move down / Change value down): Moves the selection cursor down or changes a value down.

The monitor supports a refresh rate of up to 75Hz, which can be configured through the connected PC's display settings. While it defaults to 65Hz via HDMI, users can adjust this to 75Hz by accessing their desktop's 'Display Settings', then 'Advanced Display Settings', and finally 'Display Adapter Properties' to change the screen refresh rate under the 'Monitor' tab. This allows for a smoother visual experience, particularly beneficial for fast-paced content.

Connectivity includes an HDMI port for video input and a dedicated port for the power supply unit. The monitor is designed to be set up on a clean, padded surface during assembly to prevent damage to the screen.

Maintenance Features

Maintaining the Allied A2700-B Monitor involves simple care practices to ensure its longevity and proper functioning.

  • Cleaning: For the screen, it is recommended to use only specialized LCD panel cleaner materials. The frame and base can be cleaned with a damp cloth. This helps prevent damage to the display surface and maintains the aesthetic appeal of the unit.
  • Ventilation: Adequate ventilation in the operating room is crucial. The monitor should not be used near liquids, food, or in environments with high dust or humidity, as these conditions can negatively impact its internal components and overall performance.
  • Power Protection: Using the monitor with a surge-protected power outlet is highly recommended. This safeguards the device from potential damage caused by power fluctuations or surges, extending its lifespan.
  • Damage and Support: In the event that the power supply, power cable, or any other component appears damaged, users are advised to discontinue use and contact Allied support for assistance. This prevents further damage to the monitor or potential safety hazards.
  • Original Packaging: It is strongly advised to retain all original protective packaging, including foam, screen cover, and the box. This is particularly important for future transport, as the warranty may be affected if the monitor is not transported in its original packaging, which is designed to protect it from physical damage during transit.
  • No Tampering: Users are explicitly warned not to open or tamper with any of the screws, seals, or sockets on the unit. Doing so will immediately void the warranty, as it indicates unauthorized modification or repair attempts that could damage the internal electronics.
