Do you have a question about the Alpego K-DYNO and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

This document serves as a comprehensive user and maintenance manual for Alpego's mechanical subsoilers, specifically the K-DYNO, K-EVO, and K-FORCE models. It provides essential information for safe installation, operation, and maintenance, emphasizing compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.

Function Description

The Alpego mechanical subsoiler is an agricultural implement designed for tillage on flat or moderately sloping ground. It is attached to an agricultural tractor via a three-point linkage and requires a double-acting hydraulic distributor with at least two elements. The subsoiler's anchors are designed to make the soil permeable and oxygenate it, while optional toothed rollers help break up and level the soil. The machine's intended use is exclusively for agricultural tillage by trained personnel. Any use outside of these specified operations, or with a tractor that does not meet the specified characteristics, voids the warranty and releases the manufacturer from liability.

Important Technical Specifications

The manual provides detailed technical specifications for each model:

  • K-DYNO:

    • Models: KDyno3-160, KDyno5-200, KDyno5-250, KDyno7-250, KDyno7-300.
    • Power (Kw): Ranges from 37-96 to 60-96 depending on the model.
    • Working Width (mm): Ranges from 1600 to 3000.
    • Overall Width (mm): Ranges from 1575 to 2975.
    • Height (mm): 550 for all models.
    • Number of Shanks (n°): 5 or 7.
    • Shank Spacing (mm): Ranges from 340 to 533.
    • Weight without roller (Kg): Ranges from 520* to 850*.
  • K-EVO:

    • Models: KEvo 5-250, KEvo 7-250, KEvo 7-300, KEvo 7-350.
    • Power (Kw): Ranges from 88-133 to 120-163.
    • Working Width (mm): Ranges from 2500 to 3500.
    • Overall Width (mm): Ranges from 2505 to 3494.
    • Height (mm): 550 for all models.
    • Number of Shanks (n°): 5 or 7.
    • Shank Spacing (mm): Ranges from 345 to 500.
    • Weight without roller (Kg): Ranges from 938* to 1135*.
  • K-FORCE:

    • Models: KForce 5-250, KForce 5-300, KForce 7-300, KForce 7-350, KForce 7-400, KForce 9-400.
    • Power (Kw): Ranges from 100-200 to 130-260.
    • Working Width (mm): Ranges from 2500 to 4000.
    • Overall Width (mm): Ranges from 2505 to 3996.
    • Height (mm): 650 for all models.
    • Number of Shanks (n°): 5, 7, or 9.
    • Shank Spacing (mm): Ranges from 422 to 610.
    • Weight without roller (Kg): Ranges from 1200* to 1823*.

All models are equipped with calibrated screws (M14X90 for KDyno, M16X120 for KEvo and KForce, all class 8.8) as a safety device to protect the machine structure from excessive strain. The sound level emitted during operation is negligible due to the absence of moving parts.

Usage Features

  • Connection to Tractor: The subsoiler connects to the tractor's three-point linkage. Correct weight distribution is crucial, requiring a counterweight of at least 20% of the tractor/ripper assembly weight on the front axle. Specific connection procedures are outlined for KDyno, KEvo, and KForce models, involving pins, screws, nuts, and the top link. Hydraulic connections must be checked for wear and connected according to the hydraulic diagram.
  • Support Legs: Before starting work, support legs must be positioned in the working mode.
  • Side Containment Strips: Mechanical bands are opened/closed by pulling/inserting locking pins. Hydraulic bands are operated via the tractor's hydraulic distributor. It is mandatory to close these strips before road transit. Operating hydraulic cylinders for side straps when they are excluded from work is forbidden.
  • Working Speed: The optimal tillage is achieved by considering land type, working depth, and tractor forward speed. Higher speeds generally lead to better soil crumbling. The maximum permitted working speed is 10 km/h.
  • Draft Control: For tractors with draft control, users should start in slower gears, slowly burying anchors to the desired depth, then adjust speed. For tractors without draft control, working depth can be adjusted with optional accessories using two cranks, starting at minimum depth and gradually increasing.
  • Prohibitions: It is forbidden to work in reverse, make sharp bends with the machine underground, or operate the hydraulic cylinder for side straps when they are excluded. The machine must be lifted before changing direction.
  • Road Transit: When traveling on public roads, the machine and accessories must be in transport position, approximately 40 cm from the ground. Containment bands must be closed, support legs in a high position, and rear reflector triangles, clearance lights, and beacons must be installed and clearly visible. The speed limit is 20 km/h.
  • Safety Zones: During operation, the user must remain seated in the tractor's driving seat. Any other hazardous working position is prohibited. During maintenance, the machine must be at a standstill, tractor switched off, key removed, and a "maintenance work prohibited" sign displayed.

Maintenance Features

Regular and scrupulous maintenance is essential for the machine's efficiency and safety.

  • Routine Maintenance Schedule:
    • Each shift: Machine cleaning and residue removal.
    • Every 8 hours: Machine control, bearing lubrication, pin lubrication.
    • First 50 hours, then every 200 hours: Checking and tightening bolts of the entire machine.
    • Every 1000 hours: Checking readability of pictograms.
  • Cleaning: The machine should be cleaned after each work shift using neutral biodegradable detergents. Accumulated dirt, grass, dust, and fertilizers must be removed. Non-flammable detergents should be used, avoiding hydrocarbons to prevent damage to seals, plastic components, and hydraulic lines.
  • Machine Control: Regularly check tools for wear, tractor connection pins and cotter pins, welds for cracks, external condition of bearings and seals, hydraulic cylinders and piston rods for leaks, and hydraulic hose lines for wear or damage. Hydraulic hoses must be replaced after 5 years or if signs of damage are present.
  • Lubrication: Bearing housings and tractor connection pins should be lubricated every 8 hours using a manual grease pump and Bearing EP Grease. Grease should be inserted until it protrudes slightly.
  • Bolt Tightening: During the first 50 hours, and then every 200 working hours, all bolts must be checked and tightened to the recommended torque specifications (provided in a table for M8 to M24 nominal diameters).
  • Pictogram Readability: Safety pictograms must be kept clean and replaced if illegible (every 1000 hours).
  • Storage: For long downtime, the machine should be unhooked, support legs inserted, thoroughly cleaned, hydraulic system drained, and all parts greased. It should be protected from dust and external agents in a suitable temperature and humidity environment.
  • Restart after Storage: Before restarting, ensure all covers are removed, check the machine's preservation and equipment, and restore hydraulic connections.
  • Spare Parts: When ordering spare parts, it is necessary to provide the machine model, serial number, part number, description, and quantity. Component replacement operations should be carried out with the machine disconnected from the tractor, lifted with suitable systems, and on a stable surface.
  • Wear Parts Replacement: Detailed instructions are provided for replacing KDyno protection, ploughshare, and exploder, as well as KEvo - KForce protection, ploughshare, and exploder, using a hammer, pin punch, and 13 mm spanners.
  • Accessories: The manual details various accessories that can be fitted, including "H12 roller," "M12 roller," "H22 roller," "H50 roller," "containment strips," "rear lights with reflector triangles," and "exploder" accessories.
