EN Instructions for use Alpine Silence
Warnings
Use the product according to our guidelines to achieve
the correct attenuation. Incorrect placement or usage
may not provide the intended protection. Do not insert
the earplug too deeply into the ear. Remove hearing
protection slowly and carefully to avoid damaging
the eardrum. To secure protection, wear the earplugs
continuously in noisy environments. In the event of pain
or discomfort while using, discontinue use. Do not use in
case of ear complaints and/or earache.
Usage
Alpine Silence is intended to protect the wearer from
hazardous noise levels. Please ensure that the earplugs
are fitted, adjusted and maintained in accordance
with this instruction manual. Alpine is not liable for any
damage arising from misuse. Inspect your earplugs
regularly for serviceability.
Finding the right size
You will find size M on your Alpine Silence earplugs. If you
experience discomfort in your ears, consider a smaller-
sized tip. If you’re experiencing low attenuation or the
plugs feel too small, consider trying a larger-sized tip. The
size of the tip (XS, S, M, L) is also listed on the stem on the
inside of the tip.
Applying
Alpine Silence earplugs are designed for the left and right
ear, clearly indicated on the case as well as on the back
of the earplugs. Choose the correct one for each ear to
ensure optimal fit and eectiveness. Gently insert the
earplug into the ear, making sure the V-shaped body is
properly nested within the ear canal.
Storage
Store in a dry, clean environment at moderate
temperatures avoiding extremes of heat and cold. Store
in the provided case to protect from damage.
Cleaning and care
Clean the body and the tips with a damp cloth, with
lukewarm water and mild soap and regularly inspect
them for serviceability. The earplugs may be adversely
aected by certain chemical substances. For further
information, refer to the manufacturer.
Lifetime and service
The life span of the earplugs depends on how often they
are used. Regular cleaning helps extend their durability.
For intense or daily use, we recommend replacing the
earplugs every 3 to 6 months. Alpine Silence earplugs are
durable, easy to clean, and can last up to 5 years from the
manufacturing date (printed on the packaging). Please
note, the stated lifespan is an estimate and depends on
proper care and usage, as well as various external factors
beyond control. It should not be interpreted as a warranty.
Compliance
Hereby, Alpine, declares that this product is in compliance
with the PPE regulation (EU) 2016/425. The product is
certified and monitored by PZT GmbH (NB number 1974),

The level of noise entering a person’s ear, when hearing
protector is worn as directed, is closely approximated by
the dierence between the A-weighted environmental
noise level and the NRR.
Example
1. The environmental noise level as measured at the
ear is 92 dBA.
2. The NRR is (value on label) decibels (dB).
3. The level of noise entering the ear is approximately
equal to [92 dB(A)—NRR] dB(A).
Caution: For noise environments dominated by
frequencies below 500 Hz the C-weighted environmental
noise level should be used. Although hearing protectors
can be recommended for protection against the harmful
eects of impulsive noise, the Noise Reduction Rating
(NRR) is based on the attenuation of continuous noise
and may not be an accurate indicator of the protection
attainable against impulsive noise such as gunfire.
