Overview

This document describes the Bliss Automation Surface Mounted Wall Switch, a device designed for controlling various types of motorized window coverings.

Function Description:

The Bliss Automation Surface Mounted Wall Switch is a control unit for motorized window coverings, including horizontal blinds (tilt motor), roller/sheer dual/woven motors, and honeycomb cellular motors. It allows users to control the movement (up, down, stop), set upper and lower limits, define favorite positions, and adjust motor speed. The device features a clear LCD display that shows the current channel and other relevant information. It operates bi-directionally, allowing for communication between the wall switch and the motor.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Voltage: 3V (CR2430)
  • Radio Frequency: 433.92 MHz Bi-directional
  • Transmitting Power: 10 milliwatt
  • Operating Temperature: 14°F to 122°F (-10°C to 50°C)
  • RF Modulation: FSK
  • Lock Function: Yes
  • IP Rating: IP20
  • Transmission Distance: Up to 200m (outdoor)

Usage Features:

The wall switch offers a comprehensive set of features for controlling motorized shades:

  • Channel Selection: Users can select individual channels (1-5) or a group channel (0) to control multiple motors simultaneously. This is done by pressing the "P1" button to cycle through channels.
  • Pairing: To pair the wall switch with a motor, press and hold the "P1" button for 2 seconds, then press and hold "Stop" for 2 seconds. The motor will jog and beep to confirm pairing.
  • Setting Upper/Lower Limits:
    • Upper Limit: Press and hold "Up" for 2 seconds, then press "Up" and "Stop" for 2 seconds. The motor will jog to confirm.
    • Lower Limit: Press and hold "Down" for 2 seconds, then press "Down" and "Stop" for 2 seconds. The motor will jog to confirm.
    • Adjusting Limits: For fine-tuning, press and hold "Up" or "Down" for 5 seconds, then use "Up" or "Down" to adjust, and "Up" or "Down" + "Stop" for 2 seconds to save.
  • Setting Favorite Position: Users can set a favorite intermediate position. Move the shade to the desired position, then press "P2" (on the back of the switch), "Stop", and "Stop" again. The motor will jog to confirm. To send the shade to the favorite position, press "P2" on the front of the switch.
  • Adding/Removing Remotes: An existing remote can be added or removed by pressing "P2" on the existing remote, then "P2" on the new remote.
  • Speed Regulation: Motor speed can be increased by pressing "P2" then "Up" then "Up". Speed can be decreased by pressing "P2" then "Down" then "Down".
  • Roller Mode and Sheer Mode: The wall switch supports different modes for roller/sheer shades.
    • Roller Mode: Press and hold "Up" and "Down" for 5 seconds, then "Stop" to switch to roller mode.
    • Sheer Mode: Press and hold "Up" and "Down" for 5 seconds, then "Stop" to switch to sheer mode.
  • Disable Limit Setting (Advanced Feature): This feature prevents accidental changes to the motor limits. To activate, press and hold "Stop" for more than 15 seconds until "L" appears on the display, then press a "P2" button on the back of the wall switch. To re-enable, repeat the process until "U" appears. This feature is recommended for use after all shade programming is complete.

Maintenance Features:

  • Battery Replacement: The wall switch uses a CR2430 battery. To replace, unscrew the cover, install the new battery with the positive (+) side facing up, and reassemble.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides solutions for common issues:
    • Motor no response: Check motor battery, solar panel connection, wall switch battery, radio interference, receiver distance, power supply, and wiring.
    • Motor beeps 10 times: Indicates low battery voltage or solar panel issue; recharge with AC adapter or check solar PV panel connection.
    • Cannot program a single motor (multiple motors respond): Ensure a dedicated channel is reserved for programming. For multi-motor projects, use an extra 15-channel remote for individual control. To work on a single motor, place other motors into sleep mode by pressing the motor's "P1" button for about 6 seconds until it jogs twice and beeps twice.

Safety Instructions:

  • Avoid exposing the motor to humidity, dampness, or extreme temperatures.
  • Do not drill into the motor or cut the antenna.
