Opening Safe For The First Time
• After installing the battery, enter the factory preset code: 1-5-9-#. The green light will light up
after the yellow light flashes three times with three beeps.
• Then you will need to turn the handle clockwise to open the door. You will have 5 seconds to
turn the handle before the locking mechanism is reactivated.
• If the code is entered incorrectly, the red light will flash five times with five beeps.
NOTE: You should change the factory preset code as soon as possible after opening the safe to
insure proper security.
Setting Your Own Code
• The safe will accept a 3 to 8 digit code. To program your personal code, you will need to follow
the steps listed below:
3. After opening the electronic safe (with the preset factory code of 1, 5, 9, #) locate the small
red button on the inside of the door near the hinge.
4. Press the red button and then release it. You will hear two beeps. The yellow light on the
faceplate will be activated and will stay on for a period of time that should allow you to
enter your code. You can only enter your code while the yellow light is on.
5. Enter your 3 to 8 digit personal code and press the “ * ” symbol on the keypad to store
your new personal code.
6. If your new personal code has been accepted, the yellow light will flash three times with
three beeps.
7. If the red light flashes five times with five beeps, it means the safe failed to set the new
personal code. Repeat above steps until successful.
• DO NOT SHUT THE DOOR UNTIL YOU HAVE CONFIRMED THAT YOUR NEW SECURITY
CODE HAS BEEN ENROLLED SUCCESSFULLY.
Entering the wrong code
• The safe will enter a 20-second lockout if the wrong security code is entered 3 consecutive
times. During this period, all lights will flash when pressing any buttons and the electronic
keypad will be temporarily disabled. The safe may still be opened using the emergency key
override. After the lockout, the safe will automatically resume normal operation with the green
light flash once together with one beep.
• ATTENTION: Entering the wrong security code 3 more times will lock the safe for 5 minutes.
