This document describes the AmazonBasics Adjustable Bed Base with No Massage. It is a motorized bed base designed to hold and adjust the position of a mattress, intended for household use only. It is not for medical or therapeutic use and should only be used in dry indoor areas.
Important Safety Instructions:
- Read all instructions before use to reduce the risk of burns, fire, electric shock, or injury.
- Always unplug the furnishing from the electrical outlet before cleaning or servicing to reduce the risk of electric shock.
- Keep children away from the foot support to prevent injury.
- Connect only to the furnishing specified in this instruction manual to prevent injury and fire.
- Unplug from the outlet before putting on or taking off parts.
- Close supervision is necessary when used by or near children, invalids, or disabled persons.
- Use this furnishing only for its intended purpose as described in these instructions. Do not use attachments not recommended by the manufacturer.
- Never operate the furnishing if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water. Return it to a service center for examination and repair.
- Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
- Never drop or insert any object into any opening.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.
- To disconnect, turn all controls to the off position, then remove the plug from the outlet.
- To reduce the risk of electric shock, this furnishing has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If it does not fit fully, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.
Battery Warnings:
- Exhausted batteries should be immediately removed from the remote control and properly disposed of.
- If the battery leaks, avoid contact with skin and eyes. Rinse affected areas immediately with plenty of clean water, then consult a doctor.
Before First Use:
- Check the furnishing for transport damages.
- Remove all packing materials.
- Before connecting to the power supply, ensure the power supply voltage and current rating match the details on the furnishing rating label.
- Risk of suffocation! Keep packaging materials away from children as they are a potential source of danger.
Product Description:
The bed base consists of a base frame (A), a power supply with plug (B), a mattress holder (C), and four bed legs (D). It is operated by a remote control with an LED light (E) which has a battery compartment (F).
Remote Control Functions:
- Head and foot up (G): Raises both the head and foot of the base frame simultaneously.
- Head up (H): Raises only the head of the base frame.
- Head down (I): Lowers only the head of the base frame.
- Flashlight button (J): Turns the flashlight on/off on the remote control.
- Head and foot down (K): Lowers both the head and foot of the base frame simultaneously.
- Foot up (L): Raises only the foot of the base frame.
- Foot down (M): Lowers only the foot of the base frame.
- Flat (N): Resets the base frame to the original flat position.
The maximum angle for the head and foot adjustment is 65 degrees, and the maximum height adjustment is 6.2 inches (15.8 cm).
Operation:
- Inserting batteries: Remove the cover of the battery compartment (F) on the backside of the remote control (E). Insert two 1.5 V AAA batteries (not included). Close the battery compartment (F) cover.
- Assembly: Unfold the base frame (A). Attach the bed legs (D) to the base frame (A). Flip the base frame (A) over. Install the mattress holder (C) on the end of the base frame.
- Connect to power: Connect the plug (B) to a suitable socket-outlet.
Pairing:
- If the remote control (E) is not synced, press the recover button on the main unit under the base frame (A).
- Hold the "head down" (I) and "foot up" (L) buttons for 10 seconds. A beep will be heard when the remote control (E) is synced.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Risk of electric shock! Unplug the furnishing before cleaning.
- Risk of electric shock! Do not immerse the electrical parts of the furnishing in water or other liquids. Never hold the furnishing under running water.
- Cleaning the base frame (A): Wipe metal parts with a soft, slightly moist cloth. Dry the furnishing after cleaning. Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive scourers, metal, or sharp utensils.
- Cleaning the covers on the base frame:
- Machine wash at 65-85 °F (30 °C).
- Do not tumble dry.
- Do not bleach.
- Do not iron.
- Do not dry clean.
- Use a mild detergent or warm water to spot clean the covers.
- For deep cleaning, remove the covers for hand or machine wash.
- Let the covers dry before reattaching them to the base frame (A).
- Maintenance: Any servicing other than what is mentioned in this manual should be performed by a professional repair center.
