Overview

This document provides assembly and disassembly instructions for a bar stool, identified by item numbers BS1208 and BS1208-R. The manual emphasizes safety and proper usage, stating that all instructions and warnings should be read before using the product. It also advises users to contact customer service if there are any questions about the product's safety.

Function Description:

The device is a bar stool designed for seating. It features a hydraulic mechanism that allows for height adjustment. The stool consists of several key components: a seat, a support cylinder (which houses the hydraulic mechanism), a base plate and leg, a foot rest, and a foot cap. The assembly process involves connecting these components to form a functional bar stool. The hydraulic system enables users to raise or lower the seat to their desired height, providing flexibility and comfort.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Item Numbers: BS1208 / BS1208-R
  • Max Weight Capacity: 330 Lb (pounds)
  • Support Contact Information: 1-636-532-9888, Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM Central Time. A sales receipt is required for support.

Usage Features:

The bar stool is designed for adjustable seating.

  • Height Adjustment: The stool incorporates a hydraulic mechanism for easy height adjustment.
    • To Raise the Seat: Grasp the handle and pull upward without applying any weight to the seat. The hydraulic mechanism will extend, raising the seat.
    • To Lower the Seat: Raise the handle upward and apply weight to the seat. The hydraulic mechanism will retract, lowering the seat.
  • Foot Rest: The stool includes a foot rest (component C) for user comfort, allowing users to rest their feet while seated.
  • Stability: The design includes a sturdy base plate and leg (component D) to ensure stability during use.

Assembly Instructions:

The assembly process is straightforward and involves five main steps:

  1. Attach Base Plate and Leg to Seat: Use a hex wrench to secure the base plate and leg to the underside of the seat using the provided hex bolts.
  2. Prepare Support Cylinder:
    • A black cap protects the hydraulic mechanism on the support cylinder. This cap must be removed and discarded before assembly.
    • Once the black cap is removed, an orange hydraulic button will become visible.
  3. Insert Support Cylinder into Base Plate and Leg: Firmly insert the support cylinder into the base plate and leg assembly.
  4. Set Foot Cap and Insert Support Cylinder into Base: Place the foot cap over the hole in the base. Insert the thicker end of the support cylinder into the center hole of the base and press down firmly.
  5. Attach Seat Top Assembly: Guide the open end of the seat top assembly over the support cylinder and firmly press down on the seat until it is securely attached.

Disassembly Instructions:

Disassembly involves separating the main components:

  1. Separate Base from Seat Top and Support Cylinder:
    • Turn the stool upside down.
    • Locate the metal clip in the exact center of the bottom of the base.
    • Hit the metal clip several times with a rubber mallet to disengage the locking mechanism. This action will separate the base from the seat top and support cylinder.
  2. Separate Seat Top from Support Cylinder:
    • Turn the stool upside down.
    • Strike the edge of the support cylinder several times where it meets the support. This applied force will separate the support cylinder and the base plate and leg from the seat top.

Maintenance Features:

  • Manual Retention: Users are advised to keep the manual, sales receipt, and applicable warranty for future reference. This is crucial for troubleshooting, obtaining replacement parts, or making warranty claims.
  • Customer Service: For any problems, questions, or parts needs, customer service is available. This ensures that users can get assistance with maintenance or repairs if required.
  • Pre-Assembly Check: The instruction to remove and discard the black cap from the support cylinder before assembly is a critical step to ensure the hydraulic mechanism functions correctly from the start. This prevents potential issues that could arise from not preparing the component properly.

Safety Warnings and Recommendations:

  • Read All Instructions: Emphasizes the importance of reading all instructions and warnings before using the product to ensure proper operation and safety.
  • Contact Customer Service for Safety Concerns: If there is any question about a condition being safe or unsafe, users are explicitly told NOT to use the product and to call customer service. This highlights a strong commitment to user safety.
  • Accuracy of Manual: The manual states that every effort has been made to ensure its accuracy, but also notes that it may not cover every possible condition or situation. The manufacturer reserves the right to change the product without prior notice.
  • Discard Packaging/Protective Components: The instruction to remove and discard the black cap from the support cylinder and to discard packaging before assembly is important for proper function and to prevent interference with the hydraulic mechanism.

The manual provides a comprehensive guide for assembling, using, and maintaining the bar stool, with a strong emphasis on safety and customer support.
