Why doesn't my Ameristar Air conditioning unit run?
    • S
      Samantha ChenAug 8, 2025
There are a couple of reasons why your Ameristar air conditioning unit might not be running. First, the overload protection switch may be delaying the unit start-up for three minutes. If you detect a malfunction, immediately turn off the main power switch. Second, the unit may be in standby for one minute. In this case, contact your servicing or installing dealer.

Your Ameristar air conditioning indoor fan motor will keep running for 20-70 seconds to use excess cooling and heating and prepare for the next operation. Also, if the X-Fan or Dry feature is activated, the fan continues to operate for a short time to dry off the coil.
