WARNING
!
Need for Periodic Inspection/Maintenance: This product must
be tested periodically in compliance with local codes, but at least
once per year or more as service conditions warrant. If installed on
a fire suppression system, all mechanical checks, such as alarms
and backflow preventers, should be flow tested and inspected in
accordance with NFPA 13 and/or NFPA 25. All products must be
retested once maintenance has been performed. Corrosive water
conditions, and/or unauthorized adjustments or repair could render
the product ineffective for the service intended. Regular checking
and cleaning of the product’s internal components helps assure
maximum life and proper product function.

What to do if the AMES Silver Bullet 4000SS Security Sensors pressure relief valve does not close?
    • K
      Kyle LewisJul 29, 2025
If the pressure relief valve isn't closing, it could be due to several reasons: debris on the sealing surface, a plugged hydraulic hose, a damaged seat or rubber shut off disc, a ruptured diaphragm, or a wrinkled/improperly installed diaphragm. Try removing the relief valve and cleaning it. Also, disassemble and clean the hydraulic hose. If needed, replace the relief valve assembly or the diaphragm, ensuring proper positioning during reinstallation.

Why is the AMES Silver Bullet 4000SS Security Sensors assembly discharging from the differential relief valve when there is no flow?
    • J
      Jeanne WilsonAug 6, 2025
The assembly might discharge from the differential relief valve during no flow due to several reasons: a fouled first check, fluctuating inlet pressure, outlet pressure higher than inlet pressure and leak in No. 2 check valve, leak through the diaphragm or around flange bolt holes of relief valve, or the pressure relief valve not closing. You can try to disassemble and clean No. 1 check valve. Also, control the supply line water pressure. Disassemble, clean #2 check valve & identify cause of back pressure. For servicing the relief valve, refer to page 3.

How to fix AMES Silver Bullet 4000SS Security Sensors assembly discharging from differential relief valve during flow?
    • M
      Marcus HarperAug 13, 2025
If the assembly discharges from the differential relief valve during a flow condition, it could be because No. 1 check valve is wedged open, the O-ring is displaced from the groove in the 1st check, the pressure relief valve isn't closing, or there's fluctuating line pressure. Try disassembling and cleaning No. 1 check valve. If needed, disassemble and replace the O-ring.

What to do if AMES Silver Bullet 4000SS Security Sensors differential pressure relief valve doesn't open during test?
    • S
      Sean TaylorAug 20, 2025
If the differential pressure relief valve doesn't open during the test, it might be due to differential pressure across No. 1 check valve staying above 2psi because of a leaking outlet gate valve, a weak or broken relief valve spring, a shut off seat tube bound in the body, or a plugged hydraulic hose. You can try to repair the shut-off valves. Also, disassemble and replace the relief valve spring. Disassemble and repair the shut off seat tube and the hydraulic hose.
