Filling the water tank involves a safety screw cap that requires downward pressure and an anti-clockwise turn to unscrew. Once removed, a funnel spout is inserted into the water tank opening. The measuring cup, marked up to 250ml, is used to fill the tank with clean water. It is important not to overfill the tank, as some air space is necessary for correct operation. After filling, the safety screw cap is re-fitted by screwing it clockwise as far as possible, then pushing down hard and turning to fully tighten it. Constant downward pressure is required when screwing the cap closed.
Accessories are easily attached to the main unit. The Extension Nozzle is pushed onto the Cleaner Nozzle and then its collar is screwed on. The Flexible Extension Nozzle and Mop Head Accessory are installed using the same procedure. To remove these, the procedure is simply reversed. The Angled Nozzle and Brush Nozzle must be connected to the end of the Extension Nozzle for use, not directly onto the Steam outlet nozzle. The tip of the Extension Nozzle has six sides, allowing the Angled or Brush Nozzle to be positioned at six different angles for various applications. The Squeegee Plate is assembled onto the Mop Head Accessory by locating its two small hooks into the suspension lugs on the back of the Mop Head Accessory, pushing until they clip, and then swinging the Squeegee Plate up to lock the hook over the front of the Mop Head Accessory body. Removal involves pulling the hook back to release the plate and then unhooking it from the lugs. The Mop is stretched over the bottom face of the Mop Head Accessory until it fits neatly and is removed by gently pulling the side down and off.
Once the unit is filled and accessories are attached, it is plugged into a power point and switched on. The Red Indicator Light illuminates, signaling that power is supplied and the heating element has begun to heat. The appliance requires approximately 3 minutes to heat up. When the correct temperature is reached, the Green Indicator light will illuminate. During use, the Green indicator light will turn On and Off, indicating that the temperature is being maintained.
To operate the steam function, the user slides the lock tab down to unlock the steam trigger. With the lock pulled down, gently squeezing the steam trigger will release steam from the nozzle. It is crucial not to aim the spray nozzle at other persons, animals, or objects. Once steam jets out, the setup is complete, and the user can release the steam trigger and lock tab to proceed with cleaning or steaming.
Refilling water during operation requires caution. The appliance must be unplugged, and the steam trigger lock tab slid back to squeeze the steam trigger and release all pressure. The safety screw cap is then pushed down and slowly unscrewed anti-clockwise, being careful of any short burst of residual steam. The cap is completely removed, and the appliance is allowed to cool for about 10 minutes before refilling using the funnel and measuring cup as described for initial setup. The safety screw cap is then re-fitted.
Upon completion of use, the appliance should be unplugged. The safety screw cap is pushed down and slowly unscrewed anti-clockwise, again being cautious of residual steam. The cap is completely removed, and the appliance is allowed to cool for about 10 minutes. Any residual water in the tank is tipped out, and the external surface is cleaned with a dry cloth. It is important to be cautious when turning the appliance upside down to empty water, as the water in the tank may still be hot. The safety screw cap is then re-fitted, and the appliance is stored safely in a dry place. The power cord should not be wound around the appliance body to prevent damage; instead, it should be simply looped and placed next to the appliance.
