4. Voice Alarm Systems
The VAS operates as an integral part of an AUTOPULSE IQ-396X Fire Alarm
Control Panel. The control panel can generate manual or automatic alarm
signals then send audio evacuation signals or messages to selected speaker
circuits.
This section contains operating instructions for using audio features through
the control panel and covers the following topics:

Voice Message Options
The Voice Alarm System (VAS) provides a voice evacuation subsystem for the
AUTOPULSE IQ-396X Fire Alarm Control Panel. Operating features include
automatic evacuation messages, local and fire fighter control of paging , and
two-way communications in an emergency situation. A paging microphone,
a master telephone handset and control unit, coupled with a fully electronic
emergency message recorder and easy-to-use operator controls provide the
AUTOPULSE IQ-396X with a state-of-the-art emergency communications
subsystem.
All field circuitsspeaker circuits or telephone circuitsare fully supervised
and power limited by the control panel. The Fire Fighters Command Center
is fully field programmable, and does not require special tools or equipment.
