Legend

Power and Recovery Speed

Power (P)

Defines winch power ratio (force on handle vs. resulting force on line), excluding friction.

Recovery Speed (S)

Measures line length recovered per 360-degree winch handle turn. Two speeds for two-speed winches.

Winch Position

Drum lead angle should be between 2-10 degrees for correct line winding.

Installation Guide

Dismantling

Steps to remove the drum by taking off the circlip for access to fixing holes.

Base Installation

Positioning the output gear for two-speed models and marking/drilling base holes.

Base Fastening

Using sealant on screw holes and countersunk head screws for base attachment.

Refit the Drum

Reverse the dismantling process to reassemble the winch drum.

Using the Winch

Line Winding

Ensure at least three turns of line around the drum to prevent slippage.

Operation

Insert handle and turn clockwise or counterclockwise based on model for operation.

Maintenance and Care

Old Grease Removal

Remove old grease using solvent like diesel fuel and a brush/cloth.

Lubrication

Apply Antal Hidrolub grease to all moving parts for performance and longevity.

Pawls and Gear Mounting

Check correct coupling of gears with pawls during reassembly for two-speed models.

Protection

Grease aluminum parts to prevent corrosion and protect stainless steel threads/washers.

Frequency

Under normal use, break down and service winches twice a year.
