This document describes the AOLIER BREAD MAKER, Model BM1349DB-GS, an appliance designed for automatic bread making and other related functions.
Function Description:
The bread maker is primarily used for baking various types of bread, including basic, French, whole wheat, quick, sweet, gluten-free, and sandwich bread. It also offers specialized functions such as dough preparation (for rolls, pizza, steamed bread), kneading, jam making, yogurt preparation, and a standalone bake function. A unique "HOMEMADE" program allows users full control over the baking process by adjusting times for kneading, rising, baking, and keeping warm.
Important Technical Specifications:
The appliance operates with a default setting of 900g loaf size and medium crust color. The maximum delay time for starting a program is 13 hours. The recommended room temperature for optimal operation is between 15°C and 34°C. The maximum quantity of flour and yeast that can be used are 490g and 6g, respectively. The bread pan and kneading blade are dishwashing safe.
Usage Features:
- Control Panel: The bread maker features a control panel with buttons for MENU, LOAF, COLOR, TIME, and START/STOP. An LCD display shows the selected program, time, loaf size, and crust color.
- START/STOP Button: Initiates and stops the selected baking program. A short beep confirms activation, and the working light illuminates. To stop, press for approximately 2 seconds.
- PAUSE Function: Pressing START/STOP once during operation pauses the program, memorizing settings, and flashing the working time on the LCD. The program resumes if pressed again or automatically after 10 minutes.
- MENU Selection: Cycles through 15 different programs, each with specific functions:
- Basic: Normal bread with optional added ingredients.
- French: Crisper crust, lighter texture, longer rise time.
- Whole Wheat: Whole wheat bread; delay function not advised.
- Quick: Smaller, denser loaf, shorter baking time.
- Sweet: Sweet bread with optional added ingredients.
- Gluten Free: Gluten-free bread with optional added ingredients.
- Dough: Kneading and rising only, no baking.
- Kneading: Kneads flour.
- Sandwich: Light texture bread with a thinner crust.
- Speciality: Shorter baking time, smaller, denser loaf (loaf size not adjustable, default 2.0LB).
- Jam: Boils jams and marmalades (fruits/vegetables must be chopped).
- Yogurt: Prepares yogurt.
- Bake: Baking only, no kneading or rising; can extend baking time.
- HOMEMADE: Customizable program for kneading, rise, bake, and keep warm times.
- COLOR Selection: Allows selection of LIGHT, MEDIUM, or DARK crust color (not applicable for Dough and Jam programs).
- LOAF Size Selection: Adjusts the loaf size (not applicable for Quick, Dough, Jam, Cake, and Bake programs).
- DELAY Function (TIME button): Sets a delayed start time up to 13 hours in 10-minute increments. The delay time includes the baking time. Not applicable for Kneading, dessert, yogurt, and Bake programs. Perishable ingredients like eggs, fresh milk, fruits, or onions should not be used with the delay function.
- KEEP WARM: Automatically keeps bread warm for 60 minutes after baking.
- MEMORY Function: If power is interrupted for less than 10 minutes, the bread-making process resumes automatically. If the interruption exceeds 10 minutes, the program must be restarted, unless the power breaks off during the kneading phase, in which case START/STOP can be pressed to continue from the beginning.
- Ingredient Addition: For Basic, French, Whole wheat, Quick, Sweet, Gluten-free, Cake, and Sandwich programs, 10 beeps signal the time to add additional ingredients.
- Bread Removal: After baking, 10 beeps sound, and the working light extinguishes. Press START/STOP for 2 seconds to stop the process. Use oven mitts to remove the hot bread pan by turning it anti-clockwise and pulling it straight up. Use a non-stick spatula to loosen the bread. The kneading blade, if hidden in the loaf, should be removed with the hook after the loaf has cooled.
- Ingredient Measurement: Accurate measurement of ingredients using measuring cups and spoons is crucial. Liquids should be measured at eye level.
- Ingredient Order: Generally, liquids (water, milk) should be added first, followed by sugar, salt, flour, and finally yeast or baking powder. Yeast should be placed in a small indentation in the flour, away from liquids and salt.
- Yeast Freshness Check: To check if yeast is active, mix 1/2 cup warm water (45-50°C) with 1 tsp. white sugar, then sprinkle 2 tsp. yeast on top. After 10 minutes in a warm place, the mixture should froth up to 1 cup.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning: Disconnect from power and allow to cool before cleaning.
- Bread Pan: Wipe inside and outside with a damp cloth. Avoid sharp or abrasive agents to protect the non-stick coating. Ensure it is completely dry before re-installing.
- Kneading Blade: If difficult to remove, soak the pan with warm water for approximately 30 minutes. Wipe with a damp cotton cloth.
- Lid and Window: Clean inside and outside with a slightly damp cloth.
