This document provides instructions for the TH60SS Cooker Hood, covering its installation, operation, maintenance, and technical specifications.
Function Description
The TH60SS Cooker Hood is designed to extract air from the kitchen to remove odours and maintain an optimum level of air quality. It also provides illumination for the cooking area. The appliance can be installed in two ways: ducted option or recirculation option. In the ducted option, air is extracted and vented outside, while in the recirculation option, air is filtered and returned to the kitchen.

Ventilation Requirements:
- When the range hood and appliances supplied with energy other than electricity are simultaneously in operation, the negative pressure in the room must not exceed 4 Pa (4x10⁻⁵ bar).
- The room must have adequate ventilation if an extractor hood is used simultaneously with appliances that run on gas or other fuels.
- The air must not be discharged into a flue that is used for exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels.
Usage Features
The cooker hood is designed for domestic use only.
Switching On/Off:
- The appliance is switched on at the switched fused connection unit.
- Lamp Switch: "O" for Lamp off, "I" for Lamp on.
- Motor Switch: "O" for Motor off, "I" for Motor speed low, "II" for Motor speed high.
- For best results, it is recommended to leave the cooker hood on for 15 minutes after cooking.
Safety Warnings:
- All installation work must be carried out by a competent person or qualified electrician.

Maintenance Features
General Maintenance:
- Always switch off the electricity supply before carrying out maintenance work.
- Cleaning is crucial to avoid electric shock and fire risks.
Bulb Replacement:
- The bulb may be hot; allow 10 minutes for it to cool before replacement.
- Turn to remove the bulb. (Specific instructions for removal are shown visually in the manual).
Filter Maintenance:
- Aluminium Filters (Grease Filters):
- Clean thoroughly once a month or whenever the display pilot light lights up (if fitted) to avoid fires.
- Remove filters and soak in hot water and detergent for an hour.

Troubleshooting:
The manual provides a troubleshooting table for common issues:
- Excessive vibration: Check if installed properly, fan blade damaged, or fan motor not fixed tightly.
- Light on, but motor does not work: Fan blade jammed or motor damaged.
- Both light and motor do not work: Light bulb blown or power connection loose.
- Suction performance reduced: Speed too low, distance to hob too great, aluminium grease filter dirty, top vent obstructed, or optional vent kit twisted.
- Works normally but cooking smells linger: Charcoal filter not fitted in recirculation mode or charcoal filter is full of grease.
