Do you have a question about the APLOS ANGEL 600 GPD and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Aplos Angel 600GPD is a direct flow reverse osmosis drinking water system designed for compact, slim installation and efficient water purification. It utilizes a 4-stage filtration process to produce a minimum amount of wastewater, making it an environmentally conscious choice. The system's advanced reverse osmosis technology employs a membrane with a pore size of 0.0001 micron (0.1 nm), which significantly enhances tap water quality by reducing bacteria, viruses, heavy metals, pesticide residue, lead, fluoride, and other harmful substances. The purified water is fresh, pure, and suitable for direct consumption without the need for a storage tank.

Parts and Materials in Contact with Water:

  • Composite filter element (PP cotton, phosphate, activated carbon rods):
    • Material: PP filter housing, PP carbon, phosphate particles, activated carbon rods
    • Model specifications: 1199479
    • Quantity: 1
    • Service life: 6-12 months
  • RO membrane filter:
    • Material: PP filter housing, PA
    • Model specifications: 1199480
    • Quantity: 1
    • Service life: 2-3 years

Note: The service life of filters is an estimate based on average daily pure water consumption of 20L in ordinary households, with inlet water meeting specific conditions (temperature 5°C-38°C, pressure 1-4 bar, pH 7.5+/-0.5, turbidity <1.0NTU, TDS ≤500mg/L, TOC ≤1.0mg/L). Actual filter life may vary based on inlet water quality, temperature, pressure, daily usage, and operating environment.

Usage Features:

The Aplos Angel 600GPD features an intuitive operation panel with color indicators that monitor the remaining filter lifespan, providing timely warnings for replacement.

  • Filter Life Indicators: Red, yellow, and green lights display the filter's status in real-time.
    • Green: Filter life is normal.
    • Yellow: Filter life is nearing expiration.
    • Red: Filter life has expired and requires urgent replacement. The system will beep 5 times every 3 hours until the filter is replaced and reset.
  • Flush Button: Activates and deactivates the rinsing function, which helps maintain filter performance.
  • Reset Button: Used to reset filter life indicators after replacement.
    • Pressing "Reset" enters reset mode, with the RO filter life indicator on and others off.
    • Pressing "Reset" again switches to the CFIII filter life indicator.
    • If no operation occurs within 5 seconds, the system exits reset mode.
    • Holding "Reset" for 3 seconds resets the selected filter's life to its original state, turning the indicator green.
  • Direct Flow: The system provides purified water directly without a storage tank, ensuring fresh water on demand.
  • Automatic Flushing: Upon startup, the RO system automatically flushes for approximately 10 seconds, discharging water from the drain pipe. This prepares the system for purification.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Install vertically, not on its side.
    • Connect only to cold water supply.
    • Install a pressure reducing valve if inlet water pressure exceeds 3 bar.
    • Drain water from the RO tap for at least 10 minutes after installation, repeating 3 times over 24 hours.
    • Avoid placing magnetic objects near the tap to prevent abnormal startup.
    • Do not install in direct sunlight, near heat sources, outdoors, or where exposed to harmful chemicals.
    • Do not use with microbiologically unsafe or unknown quality water without adequate disinfection.
    • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by qualified persons.
    • Children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced capabilities, can use the appliance with supervision and instruction. Children should not play with the appliance.
    • Shut off water supply and unplug if not in use for more than a week. Upon return, reactivate and drain purified water for 5 minutes before use.
    • If the system hasn't been used for more than 72 hours, press the flush button and drain at least 500 ml of water if it smells or tastes bad.

Maintenance Features:

The Aplos Angel 600GPD is designed for straightforward maintenance, primarily involving filter replacement and system checks.

  • Filter Replacement Procedure:
    1. Shut off water supply to the unit.
    2. Open the tap to drain pure water and release pressure, then close the tap.
    3. Isolate power and unplug the unit.
    4. Slightly bend the unit backward. Hold the bottom of the filter to be replaced and pull it out; the filter will rotate and come off.
    5. Align the new filter with the corresponding tube inside the unit. Press down firmly until a "click" sound confirms proper installation.
    6. Reactivate water supply and power.
    7. Check for any water leakage.
    8. Reset the replaced filter lifespan using the reset button procedure (steps 3.1-3.3 under Usage Features).
    9. Press the "Flush" button to flush the system's filters.
  • Troubleshooting Guide: The manual provides a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for common issues such as:
    • Purified water not coming through (inlet valve, filter blockage, power).
    • Water leaks (damaged seal ring).
    • Unpleasant taste/smell (long-term non-use, improper flushing, incorrect tubing).
    • Wastewater pipe not draining or continuously draining (inlet valve, filter blockage, solenoid valve failure, one-way valve failure, RO membrane blockage, high-pressure switch failure).
    • Loud RO system sound (low water pressure, system placement, internal pipe interference, filter blockage).
    • Frequent startup (reversed/missing check valve, check valve failure).
  • Warranty: The product comes with a 12-month warranty from the date of purchase. The warranty is valid only if the system is installed, used, and maintained according to the provided instructions. It does not cover components requiring replacement due to normal wear and tear or faults arising from untimely replacement of consumables. Claims related to taste, smell, or other water quality indicators must be accompanied by a water test report from an accredited laboratory.
  • Environmental Disposal: The product is marked for proper disposal, indicating it should not be discarded with general household waste in the EU. Users are encouraged to use return and collection systems or contact the retailer for environmentally safe recycling to promote sustainable reuse of materials.
