iPod 3.0 Software and Other iPod Models
iPod 3.0 software is not compatible with other models of iPod,
including original scroll wheel and touch wheel iPods, and iPod
mini.
The iPod Updater 2004-07-15 will update or restore other models
of iPod.
New Features of iPod Software 3.0
With iPod Software 3.0, you can:
• Shuffle Songs with one click (using the Shuffle item in the
main menu)
• Create multiple On-The-Go playlists
• Delete songs from On-The-Go playlists
• Select reading playback speed for audiobooks
• Hear audible click user interface feedback in headphones
• Charge via USB connection
• Enjoy improved playback performance
About iPod Updater 2004-07-15
The iPod Updater 2004-07-15 has two functions, Update and
Restore.
• Update: If you choose Update, the software on your iPod is
updated with the new version of software. Songs and other data on
iPod are not affected. If your iPod already has up-to-date
software, the Update choice is not available.
• Restore: If you choose Restore, the entire contents of iPod
are erased, all iPod settings are reset, and new software is
installed.
WARNING: Choosing Restore erases all of the music and other data
on iPod.
Using iPod Updater 2004-07-15
To install and open the iPod Updater:
1. Open Setup.exe on the iPod CD.
2. Connect your iPod to your computer.
