Sound
The PowerBook (FireWire) supports 44.1 kHz 16-bit stereo sound
output and input, available simultaneously. Sound output is through either
the built-in speakers or the external sound output jack.
Sound input can come from
• built-in microphone
• external stereo sound input jack
• modem slot
• CardBus socket
• expansion bay device
Video
The PowerBook (FireWire) 14.1 inch TFT (thin-film transistor) display
contains 1024 by 768 pixels and shows up to millions of colors. Both the
internal display and an external monitor are supported by an ATI Rage
Mobility M3 IC.
Features of the Rage Mobility M3 include
• 8 MB of embedded SDRAM
• 3D acceleration
• video acceleration
• MPEG decoding support
• dual-display mode support
• composite video output for a TV monitor
