The Aqua Cooler BF200 Series is a range of outdoor drinking fountains designed for public use, offering both hydration and bottle-filling capabilities. The series includes models BF200, BF200D, and BF200C, with the BF200C model featuring a catchment for waste water. These fountains are built to be durable and are suitable for various outdoor environments, such as parks, playgrounds, and public precincts.
Function Description:
The primary function of the BF200 Series fountains is to provide accessible drinking water. Users can activate a bubbler for direct drinking or utilize a bottle filler to refill their containers. The BF200C model includes a catchment basin to manage spilled water and direct it to a waste outlet, making it suitable for areas where drainage is a consideration. The fountains are designed for permanent installation, typically on a concrete slab, and connect to a mains water supply.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Water Inlet: 3/8" BSP (15mm)
- Waste Outlet (BF200C Model only): 40mm
- Maximum Temperature: 40°C
- Maximum Water Pressure: 1000 kPa
- Compliance:
- WMTS-105 Technical Specification: Appliances - Beverage dispensers and icemakers
- AS/NZS 4020 Testing of products in contact with drinking water
- Installation Requirements:
- Must be installed by a qualified plumber in accordance with National plumbing and drainage code AS/NZS 3500.1 and AS/NZS 3500.2 and any local authority codes.
- Requires an adequate level surface for mounting, typically a minimum 1400mm square x 125mm deep concrete slab.
- Can be secured using an inground fixing cage (preferred) or dyna-bolted/chemset anchors.
- BF200C catchment model requires water inlet through the slab as per Diagram A dimensions.
- Fixing Detail: M12 S/S acorn nut & washer, with 3/M12 Grade 4.6 hold-down bolts or chemical anchors with 100mm minimum concrete embedment.
- Drainage (BF200C): 110mm pipe to connect to stormwater or soakage trench, with a 1:40 fall. A precast pit and Class "B" lid to AS 3996, and an isolation valve on the supply line, are recommended. A 50mm depth of 15-25mm nominal gravel for drainage is also suggested.
Usage Features:
- Bubbler Activation: The bubbler is activated by a button.
- Bottle Filler Flow Rate Adjustment: The flow rate of the bottle filler can be externally adjusted to ensure consistent water pressure, which may vary by location.
- Accessibility: The design appears to be user-friendly, providing easy access to both drinking and bottle-filling functions.
- Durability: Constructed for outdoor use, the fountains are designed to withstand environmental elements.
Maintenance Features:
- Regular Cleaning: The exterior surface should be regularly washed down to prolong the lustre of the painted finish.
- Surface Restoration: Dull painted fountains can be restored with an appropriate surface polish.
- Deep Cleaning: Loose surface deposits should be removed with a wet sponge. A soft (non-abrasive) brush and a dilute solution of mild detergent (pH-neutral liquid hand washing detergent) in warm water can be used to remove dust, salt, and other deposits. Solvents should not be used.
- Stain Removal: For tea staining on stainless steel surfaces, Drifter Hull cleaner and stain remover are recommended.
- Scratch Repair: Surface scratches and inconsistencies can be touched up using Dulux touch-up paint, as most colors can be matched.
- Bolt Maintenance: Anti-seize paste is recommended on all external fixing bolts to ensure ease of access over long periods.
- Regular Inspections (every 3 months): Internal connections, water flow, and all external access screws and fixing bolts should be checked regularly to ensure they are tight.
- Debris Management: In high debris areas (e.g., parks, playgrounds), the basin should be checked regularly, and debris (sand, bark, leaf litter) removed to prevent blockages of the basin or waste outlet pipe.
- Flushing After Water Supply Interruption: After any interruption to the water supply, lines should be flushed prior to reconnection to the fountain to prevent debris from entering the valve.
- Troubleshooting - Restricted/No Water Flow: Check inlet lines for kinks, ensure the water supply valve is fully open, and verify the water pressure regulator is open.
- Troubleshooting - Continuous Drip/Run: This is often caused by debris in the valve. The lines should be flushed adequately. If the issue persists, the valve may need to be removed; contact Aqua Cooler for instructions.
- Troubleshooting - Incorrect Water Flow (shooting over/trickling): Water pressure is either too high or too low and needs to be adjusted via the water flow regulator to ensure water flows into the catchment area.
- Troubleshooting - Leaking Internal Connections: Check that connections are installed correctly. All fountains are leak-tested before leaving the factory. Ensure push-in fittings have not been pulled and the water inlet connection is tight.
- Warranty: All outdoor drinking fountains come with a 2-year manufacturer's guarantee against faulty materials and workmanship under normal wear and tear. The warranty is valid only if the fountain was installed by a licensed plumber according to the provided instructions, if water lines were thoroughly flushed, and if the unit has not been tampered with or modified without factory approval. Regular servicing and maintenance as per instructions are also required. The warranty does not cover filters. If the unit malfunctions, it must be returned to the manufacturer for replacement or repair, with freight costs paid by the customer. The company's obligation is limited to repair or replacement of parts at its discretion.
