The "Beat The Bucket" game is an interactive water-based entertainment device designed for safe and fun participation. This owner's manual provides comprehensive instructions for assembly, operation, maintenance, and safety, along with product liability disclaimers.
Function Description:
The Beat The Bucket game involves a bucket that dumps water when a target is hit by thrown foam balls. It is designed for two players: one to throw water-logged foam balls at targets and another to stand behind the framework, operating a blocking lever to prevent the balls from hitting the targets. When a target is successfully hit, the bucket automatically dumps its water, resets to an upright position, and refills with a predetermined amount of water. The game requires a flat surface with sufficient drainage and a connection to a water supply (garden hose). The system is powered by a 12-volt battery pack, which also includes a charger.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Power Source: 12 Volt Battery Pack. The game should only be operated with the supplied battery pack or damage to the electronic control module will occur, voiding the warranty.
- Charging: A 12 Volt, Low Voltage Power Supply & Charger is included. The positive (12V+) wire is RED, and the negative or common (12V-) is Brown. The RED wire should be the Female plug, and the Brown wire the Male plug. This connector plugs into the "Charger" port on the battery pack. A yellow "Charging" light indicates continuous charging.
- Power Supply: The power supply is not weather resistant and must be mounted out of the elements. Approved, weather-proof enclosures are recommended for outdoor use. It should be connected to a 110 Volt Ground Fault outlet.
- Water Fill Time: Preprogrammed to fill the bucket to within 2-3 inches of the top.
- Water Dump Requirement: Approximately half of the bucket must be full for it to dump.
- Target Distance: The player throwing balls should be 10-15 feet away from the targets, depending on age and skill.
- Materials: Assembly uses 1/4" stainless steel bolts, washers, and locknuts.
- Solenoid Valve: Commercial grade.
Usage Features:
- Assembly:
- Step 1: Install the Bucket Assembly to the game frame using supplied 1/4" stainless steel hardware. The "Beat The Bucket" logo should face the front.
- Step 2: Plug in the Bucket Assembly magnet (2-wire connector). Electrical tape or "heat shrink" is recommended for regular use to secure the connection.
- Step 3: Connect the Fill Tube using 1/4" stainless steel hardware. The fill tube should overhang the back and swivel 180 degrees. Connect the water tube to the solenoid valve by firmly pushing it into the connector.
- Step 4: Inspect for transport damage, especially worn, frayed, or exposed wires. Contact Aquaventronics for any issues.
- Operation:
- Step 1: Find a flat surface with adequate drainage.
- Step 2: Remove pins from all 4 legs and lower them into position.
- Step 3: Raise the game slightly, one side at a time, and insert pins into the lowered position.
- Step 4: Raise the bucket fill tube into position, remove and replace the pin/bolt once rotated.
- Step 5: Raise the upper framework by lifting it in the center (easiest with two people) and insert pins on both sides.
- Step 6: Move the blocker arm to the center position.
- Step 7: Connect the water supply to the garden hose connection.
- Step 8: Plug in the game battery pack.
- Important Note: The bucket will dump immediately when power is disconnected.
- Water Settings: The amount of water dumped is adjustable by partially closing the water source valve or using the supplied water valve on the game. This allows for variations in play, such as requiring multiple hits to dump the bucket.
- Game Play: Designed for two players. One player throws water-logged foam or juggle balls at targets, while the other operates a blocking lever to defend the targets.
- Safety Precaution: DO NOT USE ANY HARD BALLS ON THE GAME.
Maintenance Features:
- Preventative Maintenance: Daily visual inspection of all components for wear, fatigue, damage, vandalism, and unprotected/exposed wires is crucial for safe operation.
- Solenoid Valve Cleaning: If the unit is not performing as desired, the commercial-grade solenoid valve may have dirt or mineral buildup and should be cleaned.
- Winter Storage:
- Before freezing temperatures (32°F or 0°C), ensure all water is removed from the game.
- Antifreeze use is highly recommended.
- To remove water from the solenoid valve, connect an air source to the water line, power on the game, and trigger a target to force air through the valve.
- The Electronic Control Module can remain connected to the blast unit.
- Contact Aquaventronics for winterization questions.
- Replacing the Control Module: In case of a problem, simply disconnect the pigtail connectors from the enclosure and send the unit for repair. Attempting self-repair will void all warranty.
Safety:
- Proper maintenance and inspection are essential to prevent personal injury or property damage.
- Careful site selection is important.
- No debris, material, or objects should be placed in or around the bucket.
- Participants should not retrieve balls from under the blocking arm during play.
- All spectators and participants must be aware of thrown foam/juggling balls.
- Before powering on, inspect the game and battery pack for loose or damaged electrical wires.
- Crucial Safety Rule: DO NOT USE ANY HARD BALLS ON THE GAME.
