Do you have a question about the ARANA FOGATTI FS06B1 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

This document describes the ARANA FOGATTI RV Instantaneous Gas Water Heater, a device designed to provide hot water in recreational vehicles. The water heater operates on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and is controlled by a microcomputer intelligent system, ensuring safe and efficient operation.

Function Description

The ARANA FOGATTI RV Instantaneous Gas Water Heater is a forced exhaust system that provides a continuous supply of hot water at a constant temperature. Its intelligent control system manages the entire process, from ignition to temperature regulation and safety shutdowns.

Key functions include:

  • Digital Constant Temperature System: A microcomputer controls the water, electricity, and gas in a coordinated manner to maintain the selected output water temperature, preventing fluctuations for a comfortable experience.
  • Low Water Pressure Startup: The system is designed to activate even with low water pressure, enhancing user convenience.
  • Flameout Protection: In case of an accidental flameout during operation, the water heater automatically cuts off the gas supply to prevent leaks.
  • Speed Changing and Wind Resistance Function: If the flue or exhaust becomes blocked, the microcomputer system increases the fan's speed to clear harmful gases. If the maximum speed is reached, it issues a cease-gas and cease-fire instruction to protect the heater and occupants.
  • Water and Gas Linkage Control: The water heater automatically stops combustion and shuts down if the water supply is interrupted or the water outlet valve is closed.
  • Outlet Water Temperature Display: The device features a display that shows the current outlet water temperature.
  • Frost Protection Function: When the water pipe temperature drops below 6±1°C (43°F±2°F), the wire controller displays "Fd." The machine then ignites and runs at a certain load for 5 seconds before shutting down. It will automatically shut down if the water temperature reaches 32±1°C (90°F±2°F). After a 3-minute self-test, if the temperature is still low or the antifreeze thermostat is closed, the function restarts.
  • Fault Auto-diagnosis and Fault Code Display Function: The intelligent microcomputer continuously monitors safety devices and gas proportional valves. It detects faults and initiates a safe shutdown, displaying corresponding fault codes for easy troubleshooting and maintenance.

  • Gas Pressure Range (Normal Operation): Maximum inlet pressure not exceeding 3.3 kPa (13'' w.c.), minimum pressure not lower than 1.99 kPa (8'' w.c.).

Usage Features

The water heater is designed for ease of use and safety in RV environments.

  • Installation: It must be installed on the exterior wall of an RV, not indoors or in mobile homes, food trucks, or construction trailers. The exhaust port must face outwards. A water mixing valve must be installed before the water heater. The unit should be installed on a solid, non-combustible frame, with a minimum 20mm gap between the back of the product and any combustible materials, filled with flame-retardant insulation. The exhaust outlet must be at least 500mm from any flammable surface. The water heater must be installed upright.
  • Operation: To start, confirm the power switch is on, press the wire controller's power button, turn on the water inlet valve and gas valve, and then open the hot water tap. The water heater will ignite and hot water will flow.
  • Temperature Setting: The outlet water temperature can be set between 35°C and 51°C (123°F). Use the up/down arrows on the wire controller to adjust the temperature. Each press changes the temperature by 1°C, and holding the button changes it by 1°C every 0.25 seconds. The display shows the set temperature, then switches to real-time water temperature.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Do not store or use flammable materials near the appliance.
    • Do not modify the water heater.
    • Ensure proper grounding and use a leakage protection device.
    • Do not use battery chargers to power or test the water heater; it requires a Class 2 safety-isolated power supply.
    • Do not operate the water heater while the vehicle is in motion or refueling.
    • Always test water temperature before showering or bathing to prevent scalding.
    • In case of gas smell, evacuate all personnel, turn off the gas supply, and contact authorized service or fire department.
    • Children and juveniles should not operate the water heater without adult supervision.
    • The door of the water heater must be kept closed during operation.
  • Minimum Heat Load Setting:
    • Method 1: Plug in, press "down" for 3 seconds until "PP" appears. Press "power" to show "FA," then "power" to set the value to "00." Press "power" to exit. Press "up" to show "PH," then "up" to show "PL." Turn on gas and water; the heater will run at minimum heat load. Press "up" to switch specifications (PL, DH, FH, FL, etc.) until "qu" appears, then press "power" to save and exit.
    • Method 2: Set the wire controller temperature to 95°F. If the inlet water temperature is high enough to make the outlet water temperature higher than 95°F, the water heater is running at its minimum heat load.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for the safe and comfortable use of the water heater. It should only be performed by authorized personnel.

  • Daily Inspection:
    • Check air intake grill and exhaust vent for dust or blockages.
    • Inspect the unit for unusual appearance or noise during operation.
    • Check for water and gas leakage.
    • If carbon deposits are found, contact a service provider to clean or replace the burner.
  • Maintenance Instructions:
    • Clean the unit regularly with a damp cloth; avoid chemical lotions or volatile solvents.
    • Regularly clean the air intake grill, dust filter, and exhaust port to ensure proper airflow. To remove the air intake filter, open the panel, remove four thumbscrews, and clean it with water.
    • Turn off the water inlet, remove the water inlet pipe, clean the filter, and reinstall.
    • Drain water from the RV regularly and flush the heat exchanger with an approved detergent (refer to RV manufacturer's instructions).
    • Wipe the display with a damp cloth; avoid gasoline or grease detergents.
    • When traveling on dusty roads, clean the interior of the water heater by blowing away dust with a compressed air gun.
    • Keep the appliance area clear of combustible materials, gasoline, and other flammable vapors.
    • If overheating occurs or the gas supply fails to shut off, turn off the manual gas control valve.
    • Caution: Label all wires before disconnection during servicing to prevent improper and dangerous operation. Verify proper operation after servicing.
  • Drain and Store Instructions (for winter/long-term storage):
    • Turn off power and gas valves.
    • Connect the water inlet connector to the water outlet pipe with a switch valve via a tee fitting. Connect the water outlet connector to compressed air with a switch valve via a tee fitting.
    • Turn off water inlet A, open water outlet B before draining.
    • Turn water outlet D, open compressed air valve C. Use compressed air (less than 300kPa) to blow water out of the drain. Close the compressed air valve when the pipe is dry. Avoid prolonged blowing to prevent damage.
    • Turn off the power supply, air supply, and pump on the water system. Turn on the water outlet tap.
    • Flush the entire water system according to RV manufacturer's instructions.
    • When refilling the RV water system, only start the water heater after air is purged from the system. Water must drain out of the RV through the pipe.
  • Antifreeze System: Before traveling to cold regions, implement antifreeze measures. This includes draining water, adding RV-recommended antifreeze, or activating the built-in antifreeze function (open power and gas, close water inlet valve). The system will automatically run and shut down to prevent freezing when temperatures drop.
