Inflate the ‘Urias
®
’ Air Splint in the usual manner as detailed in the instructions for use, i.e. by
opening the ‘T’ valve, inflating by mouth to the desired or recommended pressure, and then
closing the ‘T’ valve.
Ensure that the Urias
®
Splint is inflated to the recommended / desired level by using the
Pocket Pressure Gauge.

Push the connector of the gauge over the Urias
®
splint inlet tube and open the ‘T’ valve.
Read the pressure on the gauge dial and close the ‘T’ valve.
If more pressure is required, remove the gauge from the Urias
®
splint inlet tube and
inflate the splint further by mouth and repeat steps 1 and 2 above.
If less pressure is required, remove the pressure gauge from the Urias
®
splint inlet tube
and open the ‘T’ valve of the splint to release air. Repeat steps 1 and 2 above.
Repeat process until the required pressure level is achieved.

The Pocket Pressure Gauge is designed to measure the pressure in the ‘Urias
®
’ splints to the
recommended 40mm Hg following inflation by mouth.
Care should be taken not to ‘kink’ the connecting tube
of the Pressure Gauge especially when not in use.

Urias Splints Pocket Pressure Gauge Instructions

Connect Gauge and Open Valve

Push the connector of the gauge over the splint inlet tube and open the 'T' valve.

Read Pressure and Close Valve

Read the pressure on the gauge dial and close the 'T' valve.

Increase Pressure if Needed

Remove gauge, inflate splint further by mouth, and repeat steps 1 and 2.

Decrease Pressure if Needed

Remove gauge, open splint's 'T' valve to release air, and repeat steps 1 and 2.

Repeat Until Target Pressure

Repeat the process until the required pressure level is achieved.

Gauge Usage and Care

Gauge measures pressure to 40mm Hg. Avoid kinking the connecting tube.
