The Ardo Bellis is an electric breast pump designed for collecting breast milk from lactating or breastfeeding women. It operates by generating a defined vacuum at the breast, mimicking the baby's sucking behavior through two phases: stimulation and expression modes. This device can be used for single or double pumping and is intended for use in both home and professional environments. It is suitable for multiple users.
Function Description:
The Ardo Bellis is a 2-phase breast pump. The stimulation mode uses a rapid cycle (suction frequency) with low vacuum (suction level) to stimulate the let-down reflex and initiate breast milk flow. The expression mode then switches to a slower cycle with a high, comfortable vacuum for efficient milk expression once the let-down reflex has been triggered.
Key control elements and symbols include:
- On/Off button (standby button): Switches the breast pump on and off.
- Memory Plus button: Saves the expression history of a pumping session, including settings and time in both stimulation and expression modes. When lit, the sequence is saved but not displayed. When flashing, the saved expression history is displayed. The breast pump automatically stops after the saved time.
- Power Pumping button: Automatically starts a pre-defined one-hour interval pumping program (interval pumping over an hour) to increase milk volume. Segments light up green during expressing and white during pauses, indicating progress.
- Bluetooth®: Indicates the breast pump's connection via Bluetooth.
- Battery display: Shows the charge level of the rechargeable battery.
- Vacuum display: Step indicator for vacuum (suction level).
- Cycle display: Step indicator for cycle (suction frequency).
- Vacuum buttons ( + / - ): Increase or decrease the vacuum (suction level) by one step/bar.
- Cycle buttons ( + / - ): Increase or decrease the cycle (suction frequency) by one step/bar.
- Mode button: Displays the current mode and allows manual switching between stimulation and expression modes. The upper semicircle lights up orange in stimulation mode, and the lower semicircle lights up green in expression mode.
- Timer: Displays the expressing time.
The device features "Vacuum Seal" technology, which is a closed pump system with hygiene barriers directly in the breast shell.

Usage Features:
- Start-up: The breast pump can be operated with the enclosed USB cable or the integrated rechargeable battery. It is not necessary to fully charge the battery before first use; it can charge during the first five hours of use while connected to mains power.
- Connecting the pumpset: For single pumping, attach one tube connector to the Ardo Bellis, leaving the second opening closed. For double pumping, open the second opening and connect the tube of a second pumpset.
- Basic expressing procedure: Find a comfortable position, hold the pumpset on the breast shell, and center the nipple. Press the On/Off button to start. The device begins in stimulation mode, then automatically switches to expression mode after two minutes (or manually if milk flows earlier or if stimulation needs to be extended). Vacuum and cycle settings can be adjusted for comfort. The timer automatically displays expressing time. Massaging the breast during expression can increase milk volume.
- Silent Start: If the Ardo Bellis is switched on without a pumpset, it runs quietly without pumping. Expression starts once the pumpset is inserted.
- Memory function: Allows users to save their preferred expression settings and duration. When reactivated, the breast pump will automatically use these saved settings. Saved data can be deleted by holding down the Memory Plus button.
- Power Pumping: A pre-defined one-hour interval program (three expressing phases interrupted by two pauses) to increase milk volume. Users can remove the pumpset and move freely during pauses. The program automatically stops after 10 minutes in the third expressing phase.
- Battery operation: A fully charged battery allows for approximately 8 expressing sessions. Charging time is about 2 hours. Charging time is extended if the device is used while charging. Users should check national restrictions for carrying lithium-ion batteries when flying.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning at home: Disconnect from mains power before cleaning. Wipe the device with a damp cloth and normal dishwashing liquid. The breast pump is not waterproof and should not be immersed in water, cleaned in a dishwasher, or used in the bath/shower.
