Overview

This document is a user manual for the AREBOS Air Cooler 60W 5.5L, model AR-HE-AC5560. It provides comprehensive information on the device's function, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.

Function Description

The AREBOS Air Cooler is designed for indoor air cooling using evaporative cooling technology. It cools incoming warm air by passing it through an evaporation filter moistened with cold water, then blows it out as cool, moist air. For enhanced cooling, ice packs can be used in the water tank. The device can also function as a normal electric fan without water. Additionally, it offers an air freshening function, filtering and moistening intake air through an integrated air filter and honeycomb structure of the evaporation filter. The air cooler features various operating modes, including sleeping mode, normal mode, dry-wind mode, and "Eco" mode, which adjusts fan speed based on ambient temperature. It also includes an ION button to activate a built-in ionizer for fresh air.

Usage Features

The air cooler is operated via a control panel on the device and a remote control.

Control Panel and Remote Control Functions:

  • ON/OFF Button: Powers the device on and off.
  • SPEED Button: Selects between three fan speeds: Low, Mid, and High. A fourth speed is implied by the "4" in "Number of fan speeds" but only three are explicitly mentioned for selection.
  • OSC Button: Activates oscillation. Pressing once enables left-to-right movement, twice enables top-to-bottom movement, and three times enables both. Pressing again stops oscillation.
  • MODE Button: Selects between sleeping mode, normal mode, and dry-wind mode.
    • Sleeping Mode: Releases air at a low level, stopping for 2 seconds at 40-second intervals.
    • Normal Mode: Airs for 6 seconds at low, medium, and highest levels, then stops for 3 seconds.
    • Dry-wind Mode: Releases air at the highest level for 20 minutes, then automatically switches to standby. In this mode, only MODE and ON/OFF buttons are active.
  • TIMER Button: Sets an automatic shut-off timer for 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours.
  • Cool Button: Activates the cooling function, indicated by a light. Requires water in the tank (between MIN and MAX levels). If water is low, the indicator turns red and a beeping sound is heard.
  • ION Button: Activates the built-in ionizer for fresh air.
  • AI/Auto Button: Offers "Baby mode" for a light breeze and "Eco" mode, which adjusts fan speed based on ambient temperature (high speed >35°C, medium speed 29-34°C, low speed 25-28°C, medium breeze <25°C).

Commissioning:

  1. Unpack the air cooler and ensure all parts are present.
  2. Attach the supplied wheels.
  3. Place the unit on a flat surface.
  4. Fill the water tank with clean water (between MIN and MAX levels) before using the cooling function.
  5. Plug the power cord into a properly secured electrical outlet.
  6. For remote control, insert a button battery, observing polarity. Replace with a new battery of the same type when needed. Remove the battery if not using the remote for a long time.
  7. Ice crystal boxes can be frozen and placed in the water tank for enhanced cooling.

Maintenance Features

Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for secure and efficient operation.

Maintenance and Care Intervals:

  • Before every use: Clean the water tank, check suction and exhaust openings for dirt, and check the air filter for dirt.
  • If necessary: Clean exterior, visually inspect inside for contamination, replace honeycomb filter, check for damage, and check fastening screws.
  • At least every 2 weeks: Clean the water tank.
  • At least every 4 weeks: Check suction and exhaust openings for dirt, and check the air filter for dirt.
  • At least annually: Visually inspect inside for contamination, check fastening screws, and perform a test run.

Activities Before Maintenance:

  • Always turn off the device and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet by grasping the plug.
  • Activities requiring the housing to be opened should only be performed by authorized specialist companies.

Specific Cleaning Instructions:

  • Housing: Clean with a damp, soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid moisture contact with electrical components and do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
  • Water Tank: Empty and clean the water tank before long periods of non-use or storage. Remove calcium deposits and dry thoroughly.
  • Air Filter: Remove the air filter from the back of the device. Clean with a soft, lint-free, slightly damp cloth or warm water with neutral detergent if heavily soiled. Ensure the filter is not worn, damaged, or deformed. Let it dry completely before reinserting.
  • Visual Inspection (Inside): Remove the air filter, use a flashlight to check for dirt inside. If a dense layer of dust is found, have a specialist electrician clean the interior. Reinstall the air filter.

Transportation and Storage:

  • Before Transport: Turn off, unplug, and empty the water tank. The device has transport wheels. Do not use the power cord as a pull cord. Roll on flat, smooth surfaces.
  • After Transport: Place the device upright.
  • Storage: Store in a dry place, protected from frost, heat, dust, and direct sunlight, in an upright position, and with a cover. Empty and clean the water tank, and allow the honeycomb filter to dry completely to prevent musty odors. Do not place other objects on the device. Remove batteries from the remote control.

Troubleshooting:

The manual includes a troubleshooting section addressing common issues such as the fan not working, inability to switch off, strange noises, lack of humidity, no oscillation, and insufficient cooling, along with their causes and solutions.
