In view of known contraindicaons your aending doctor should evaluate possible
risks and weigh them against the therapeuc benets of use of medical device when
considering applicaon of the ankle orthosis.
Target group:
Paents with ankle instability, post-operave and post-traumac therapy of the ankle
and paents with the above menoned indicaons. The ankle orthosis is intended
for use on healthy, intact skin. The orthosis is designed for all age groups and both
genders. There are no restricons for use during pregnancy.
Side eects may occur, especially if the ankle orthosis does not t properly or if it is
worn when at rest. There may be bruising, impaired blood ow due to pressure on
blood vessels, or impaired sensivity due to a too ghtly ng ankle orthosis. Sensi-
ve and hypersensive individuals may experience skin irritaon (redness, itching, or
blistering) at the place of contact of the ankle orthosis with the skin.
How to choose the correct size of the ankle orthosis:
A proper t is necessary to achieve the desired eect. Determine the size by measu-
ring the circumference of the limb at the points indicated in the gure.
Note:
Any swelling or instability of the ankle should be assessed by a doctor. If this is the rst
me you have noced swelling or instability of the ankle, consult your doctor before
using the ankle orthosis. Do not start self-treatment with the ankle orthosis unless
you know the cause of the swelling or instability of the ankle. Always consult your
aending doctor before using this product in combinaon with other medical devices
(such as compression stockings).
