The ARMEDICA™ AM-Series Hi-Lo Treatment Tables are designed as physical therapy supports for patients during clinician-attended diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring. These tables are equipped with a vertical table height adjustment actuator and casters for mobile transport, ensuring versatility and ease of use in a clinical setting. Patients should not be left unattended on the table.
Installation of the ARMEDICA™ Treatment Tables is straightforward, requiring no assembly. Users simply need to remove all packaging material and plug the power cord into a properly grounded 120 Volt AC outlet. The tables are equipped with leveling glides to ensure maximum stability on various surfaces. A thermal cutout protects the motor from overheating, enhancing safety and longevity.
Before operating the table, users must read, understand, and practice the precautionary instructions outlined in the manual. It is crucial to be aware of the limitations and hazards associated with the ARMEDICA™ Treatment Tables. Always disengage the caster system once the table is in the desired location for patient use to prevent unintended movement.
The motor is double insulated for protection from electromagnetic interference (EMI). The equipment complies with IEC 60601-1-2: Third edition 2007-03 limits for medical devices, providing reasonable protection against harmful interference in typical medical installations. However, if interference occurs, measures such as reorienting or relocating the receiving device, increasing separation between equipment, or connecting to a different circuit should be considered. Consulting the manufacturer or a field service technician is recommended for assistance.
For Model 368 and all models with 4-swivel lock casters, ensure all casters are locked prior to patient use. When adjusting the angle of any table section, always use both hands. Never change the angle of a section while the patient's weight is on it. It is imperative to keep hands and feet, as well as the patient's hands and feet, clear of the table's working mechanisms when raising or lowering it. Patients must never be left unattended on the table.
The height of the ARMEDICA™ Treatment Tables is adjusted using a low voltage hand switch or foot switch, which activates the electric motor assembly. Arrows clearly indicate the up or down motion. The motor operates on a duty cycle of 1 minute on and 9 minutes off.
The sections of the ARMEDICA™ Treatment Tables are raised by lifting them with both hands. A locking mechanism securely holds them at any desired angle. To lower a section, hold it with one hand and release the locking mechanism by turning the knob with the other. When lowering any table section, ensure hands are placed where they cannot come into contact with the board supports. If a patient is on the table, do not adjust a section if their weight is on that particular section. For the 3-piece head section's armrest, use two hands to pull it out to the side, then raise or lower it into position, and release. Always ensure the armrest on the 3-piece head section is securely locked before the patient places any weight on it.
To activate the casters, the table must be elevated at least 6 inches above its minimum height. Pull the caster lever bar toward the foot end of the table and lock it into position. Lowering the table to its minimum height will engage the casters, allowing the table to be repositioned. Once in the desired location, raise the table 6 inches, lift the lever bar, and slide it toward the head of the table. This action moves the activator support bar forward, disengaging the caster system. If the table is not level after repositioning, adjust the leveling glides to ensure maximum stability.
ARMEDICA™ Treatment Tables are equipped with a maintenance-free electric motor. Moving parts of the table should be lubricated with a drop of oil approximately every six months. Regularly check all hardware, such as nuts and bolts, to ensure they are properly adjusted and securely fastened. If the hand switch, foot switch, or power cord needs replacement, ensure the plug is inserted properly and the locking tabs on the motor snap into place. The vinyl cover should be cleaned with mild soap and water, and the table frame wiped with a dry cloth to remove dust and lint as needed.
If the motor does not work, first check if the motor is plugged into the receptacle and if the power cord is properly plugged into the motor. Verify that the receptacle is receiving power. Check the hand switch or foot switch to ensure it is plugged in. If the thermal cutout has activated, allow the motor to cool. In the event of a motor failure, it must be returned to Armedica Mfg. Corp. for service by the manufacturer.
