  If you notice spots and filming on glasses and flatware in your Artusi Dishwasher, it could be due to extremely hard water. To address this: 1. Remove all metal utensils from the dishwasher. 2. Do not add detergent. 3. Select the longest cycle. 4. Start the dishwasher and allow it to run for about 18 to 22 minutes, until it reaches the main wash. 5. Open the door and pour 2 cups of white vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher. 6. Close the door and let the dishwasher complete the cycle. If vinegar doesn't work, repeat the process using 1/4 cup (60 ml) of citric acid crystals instead.

If suds occur, open the dishwasher and let them evaporate. Add 1 gallon of cold water to the tub, then close and latch the dishwasher. Start the "soak" wash cycle to drain out the water, repeating if necessary. Also, always wipe up any rinse agent spills immediately.
