The Asalvo Calm Minicuna (Minicot/Kinderbett/Mini Culla) is a bedside sleeper designed for infants up to approximately 5-6 months of age or until they begin to push up on hands and knees, or reach a maximum weight of 9 kg. It is compliant with standard EN 1130:2019, and its mattress conforms to EN 16890:2017.

Function Description:

The Asalvo Calm Minicuna serves as a safe sleeping area for infants, offering both a standalone crib mode and a co-sleeping bedside mode.

  • Main Body: The primary structure of the minicuna, providing the enclosed sleeping space.
  • Mattress Board: A rigid board that supports the mattress.
  • Mattress: The included mattress, designed to fit the minicuna.
  • Carry Bag: For convenient transport and storage of the minicuna.
  • Fixing Bar: A component used during assembly to secure the structure.
  • Support Tube: Provides structural support to the minicuna.
  • Safety Harness: Used to secure the minicuna to the adult bed in co-sleeping mode.
  • Straps for Fixing to Parent Bed: Long straps used to attach the minicuna securely to the adult bed frame.
  • Left and Right Legs: The base supports of the minicuna.

Usage Features:

  • Assembly:
    1. Install the left and right feet into their correct positions.
    2. Insert the support tube; a "click" will indicate it is secure.
    3. Attach the fixing bar; a "click" will signal it is secured.
    4. Insert the mattress board and attach the safety harness around the crib's main frame and the mattress board.
    5. Insert the mattress.
  • Height Adjustment:
    • To raise the height: Step on the center of the foot stabilizing bar to stabilize the bassinet. While holding both sides of the sleeping nest rail, pull upwards until the desired bed height is reached.
    • To lower the height: Locate the plastic handles on the left and right foot tubes. Pull both handles up with fingers simultaneously to release the locks, then push the sleeping nest down to the desired height. The minicuna offers multiple height positions (e.g., position 1 to 5).
  • Swing Function: Hold the release button and lift the wheels up to enable a gentle rocking motion.
  • Bedside (Co-sleeping) Function:
    1. Unzip the left and right sides of the front sleeping nest.
    2. Gently pull out the front tube (covered with fabric) from both sides simultaneously.
    3. Insert the tube bar into the socket at the end of the sleeping board.
    4. To secure to the parent bed: Pass the long straps through the adult bed frame. Adjust the length of the straps to ensure there is no gap between the bedside sleeper and the parent bed.
    5. Connect the two buckles of the "co-sleeper" belt to the underside of the crib; a "click" will confirm it is secured.
    6. Pull on the loose ends of the belt to tighten it, ensuring no gap between the adult bed and the crib.
    7. Align the minicuna beside the adult bed and feed the "co-sleeper belt" underneath the adult mattress.
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Always read the instructions before use.
    • Do not add a second mattress; this poses a suffocation hazard. Only use the mattress sold with the minicuna.
    • Do not place extra items in the product, as this can cause suffocation.
    • Keep the product away from other items that could pose a choking or strangulation risk (e.g., ropes, curtains, cords).
    • Remove protective plastic before use and keep it out of the baby's reach.
    • Do not use the minicuna without the "L" shaped metal parts on each leg.
    • Ensure anyone caring for the baby is familiar with the instructions.
    • Stop using the product when the child can sit, kneel, or stand independently.
    • Do not use the minicuna basket without its support.
    • Do not use if any parts are broken, cracked, or missing.
    • Always check that locking mechanisms are correctly closed and adjusted before use.
    • All mounting devices must be properly tightened, and screws should not be loose to prevent pinching or snagging hazards.
    • The product must always be on a safe, level surface on the floor.
    • Do not allow other children to play near the minicuna without adult supervision.
    • In fixed position mode, the minicuna must be used if the child is left unattended.
    • The grey line on the inner wall marks the maximum mattress height.
    • Only use accessories and replacement parts approved by the manufacturer.
    • Be aware of the risk of placing the cot near fire or intense heat sources (e.g., electric heaters, gas heaters).
    • When using the mattress, always close the zip completely and insert the zip puller into the cover opening to prevent access to the filling.
    • The mattress length and width must ensure the maximum clearance between the mattress and the sides/ends does not exceed 30 mm.
    • The height of the minicuna mattress must NEVER be above the adult bed mattress in co-sleeping mode.
    • The minicuna is suitable for adult beds with a mattress top height between 44.5 cm and 59 cm from the floor.
    • Always raise the drop side completely when not attached to the adult bed.
    • The attachment system must always be kept away from and out of the crib to prevent strangulation risks.
    • The retractable feet and drop-down rail bar must ONLY be used in bedside sleeper mode.
    • The attachment system must always be used in bedside sleeper mode.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Cleaning:
    • Metal and plastic parts can be washed by hand with warm water and neutral soap. Do not use aggressive cleaning products.
  • Mattress Cleaning:
    • Hand wash with neutral soap.
  • Textile Minicuna Co-sleeping Cot Cleaning:
    • Hand wash or machine wash without spinning at 30°C.
    • Do not iron.
  • Important Notes:
    • Refer to the product label for specific washing instructions.
    • Keep the purchase invoice for warranty claims. The warranty excludes defects from improper use, non-compliance with safety rules, or normal wear and tear.
    • Maintain the instructions for future reference.
    • Check operational elements before first use.
    • The inclination of the cradle should not exceed one point difference between legs.
    • If any parts are missing, damaged, or broken, contact Asalvo for replacement parts and instructions. Do not replace parts yourself.
