Grooves or cuts appearing
in surface of belt
1. Rock wedged between
hopper fl ashing and belt.
2. Material buildup under
conveyor.
3. Jaw defl ector plate.
4. Tail pulley has rock wedged
into it.
5. Inside belt plow not in place
or adjusted properly.
1. Loosen fl ashing and clean.
2. Move unit and clean-up
material.
3. Adjust to prevent material
from falling straight onto
belt.
4. Remove rocks from tail
pulley.
5. Adjust or replace belt plow.

Troubleshooting
Material leakage at hopper
1. Rubber flashing worn or
space between the belt and
fl ashing.
1. Adjust fl ashing.
2. Replace fl ashing.
Conveyor bearings
overheating
1. Bearing misaligned.
2. Bearings worn out.
3. Excess bearing load.
1. Realign bearing.
2. Replace bearings.
3. Reduce belt tension.
1. Not enough belt tension.
2. Belt tension uneven.
3. One or more idlers out of
alignment.
4. Roller on idler not turner.
5. Dirt build up on pulley.
6. Pulley shaft out of line.
7. Belt too long.
8. Splice not cut square.
9. Belt fasteners pulling out
of one side of the splice.
10. Pulley badly worn.
1. Increase tension by adjusting
take-up.
2. Equalize tension.
3. Realign idlers.
4. Replace idler.
5. Clean pulley.
6. Realign shaft.
7. Shorten belt.
8. Recut and splice belt.
9. Recut and splice belt.
10. Replace pulley.
