Chapter 3: Working with Windows® 8.1
NOTE: The operating system varies with country or region.
Starting for the rst time
When you start your computer for the rst time, a series of screens appear to
guide you in conguring the basic settings of your Windows® 8.1 operating® 8.1 operating 8.1 operating
system.
To start for the rst time:
1. Turn on your All-in-One PC. Wait for a few minutes until the setup screen
appears.
2. From the setup screen, pick a language to use on your All-in-One PC.
3. Read the license terms then click I Accept.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions to congure the following basic items:
• e-mail
• Personalize
• Get online
• Settings
• Your account
NOTE:
You need an internet connection to completely congure some items. If
you do not have an internet connection, you can skip the conguration and
proceed to the next item.
5. After conguring the basic items, Windows® 8.1 proceeds with the
installation of your apps and preferred settings.
IMPORTANT! Do not turn-o your All-in-One PC during the setup process.
6. Once the setup process is complete, the Start screen of Windows® 8.1
appears.
