Unplug the cable/DSL modem and remove its battery backup if it has one.
Connect your modem to the router using the provided network cable.
Power on the cable/DSL modem and check its LED lights for active connection.
Plug in the power adapter and press the power button at the back of the router.
Check the WAN and 2.4G / 5G LED lights to ensure the hardware connection is ready.
Open a web browser and navigate to http://router.asus.com.
Login using 'admin' for username and password, then follow the wizard to complete setup.
Change default passwords for increased security and reboot the router.
