Skylake/CascadeLake-WSeriesProcessors,youmayinstallvaryingmemory
sizesinChannelA,ChannelB,ChannelC,andChannelD.Thesystemmapsthetotalsize
ofthelower-sizedchannelforthequad-channelconguration.Anyexcessmemoryfrom
thehigher-sizedchannelisthenmappedforsingle-channeloperation.
• ThedefaultmemoryoperationfrequencyisdependentonitsSerialPresenceDetect
(SPD),whichisthestandardwayofaccessinginformationfromamemorymodule.
Underthedefaultstate,somememorymodulesforoverclockingmayoperateata
lowerfrequencythanthevendor-markedvalue.
• Forsystemstability,useamoreefcientmemorycoolingsystemtosupportafull
memoryload(8DIMMs)oroverclockingcondition.
• AlwaysinstalltheDIMMSwiththesameCASLatency.Foranoptimumcompatibility,
werecommendthatyouinstallmemorymodulesofthesameversionordatacode
(D/C)fromthesamevendor.Checkwiththevendortogetthecorrectmemory
