The On/Volume
Control
To switch
the monitor
on,
turn this knob clockwise.
Whenever
power
to
the monitor
is
switched on,
the green light
on the
front
panel
is
illuminated.
To
switch
the monitor off,
turn
the
knob
counterclockwise.
This
knob also
controls the
volume level.
Your
monitor
is
equipped
with
a
small speaker located
on
the left
side
panel.
As
you
turn
the
knob
further clockwise, the volume
level increases;
as you
turn
it
counterclockwise,
the volume
level decreases. Your
computer
is capable of sending
audio
signals
to
the monitor,
and
many
programs
and games
will make use
of
the speaker.
The
Contrast
and
Brightness Controls
The other two
knobs
control
the
contrast and
brightness
of
the
monitor’s
display.
Rotating
the
contrast
knob increases or decreases the degree
of
difference between
the lighter
and
the darker
elements of
the
display.
Rotating
the brightness
knob
increases
or
decreases the
overall
brightness of
the
display.
With text
displayed
on the monitor’s
screen, turn the brightness
control
clockwise as
far
as
it
will
go.
The
screen
will appear
uncomfortably
bright. Now
turn the
brightness
down
to a
comfortable
level.
Next,
adjust
the
contrast knob
until the
text
is
clear
and distinct.
