To extend the tripod, the black knobs are twisted counter-clockwise, the post is extended to the desired level, and then the knob is re-tightened by twisting clockwise. These adjustments should only be made by hand, without the use of wrenches or pliers. Similarly, the tripod legs can be adjusted by loosening the knob on the top bracket, sliding the legs down to the desired level, and then re-tightening the knob.
Maintenance primarily involves bulb replacement and ensuring proper contact between the lamp and socket. When replacing a bulb, the top screw in the lamp housing cover is unscrewed. The halogen bulb should be handled with a soft cloth. One end of the bulb is carefully located into the ceramic mounting. While pushing that end against the metal pins, the other end is gently slid into position in the other ceramic mounting until it is secure. Force should not be used during installation. A critical note for bulb replacement is to NEVER TOUCH THE BULB WITH FINGERS, as this will cause damage. If the bulb has been touched, it should be carefully wiped with a soft cloth dampened with methylated spirits. Once the bulb is in position, the lamp housing is replaced and firmly screwed into place.
Troubleshooting guidance is provided for situations where the lamp does not operate. If the bulb is broken, it should be replaced. If there is poor contact between the lamp and socket, users should check to ensure the lamp is securely installed. In cases of improper wiring or incorrect voltage (too high/low at the fixture), the unit should be checked by a qualified electrician, and the power supply should also be checked by a qualified electrician.
