Overview

The MD-204R Wireless Hooter is an indoor siren designed for security systems. It operates wirelessly and communicates with a control panel, magnetic contacts, panic buttons, and keyfobs using two-way communication. The siren is powered by its own AC adapter and includes a built-in backup battery.

Function Description:

The primary function of the MD-204R is to signal alarms. When triggered by a control panel or directly by wireless detectors, it emits a loud siren sound at 115dB. In addition to alarms, it can provide arming and disarming chirps for system status indication. The siren performs regular auto-testing and reports its condition to the system for full supervision, ensuring reliable operation. Only one MD-204R siren can be used with a control panel.

Communication Modes:

  1. With Control Panel: Once enrolled with the control panel, the siren works in conjunction with it. Upon an alarm event, the control panel triggers the siren to hoot for 2 minutes. It also provides arming and disarming chirps.
  2. With Wireless Detectors (without Control Panel): The siren can communicate directly with wireless detectors. If a detector sends an alarm signal to the siren, it will hoot for 2 minutes. If a detector is tampered with, the siren will sound intermittently. The hooting can be stopped by a keyfob.
  3. With Keyfob (without Control Panel): The siren can communicate directly with a keyfob.
    • Pressing the "RISK" button on the keyfob stops the hooting.
    • Pressing the "HELP" button triggers the siren to hoot for 2 minutes.
    • Pressing the "UNLOCK" button makes the siren emit a sound and enter a "close" state.
    • Pressing the "LOCK" button makes the siren emit a sound and enter an "open" state.

Technical Specifications:

  • Siren Type: Piezo electric
  • Sound Output: 115dB
  • Working Range: Up to 100m (open area)
  • Backup Battery: 7.2V, 1.0 Ah (included)
  • Alarm Current: ≤500mA
  • Working Environment: Indoor use, -10 to +40°C
  • Working Frequency: 433 MHz
  • Power Supply: 15V DC
  • Stable Current: 8mA

Usage Features:

  • Installation:
    • Disassembly: To remove the front case, press the case and rotate the base.
    • Mounting: The base should be mounted at a height of 2.4-4.8m. Mark and drill holes on the wall, then fix the base with screws. Surface mounting is optional.
  • Enrolling Devices:
    • Press the "SAVE" button.
    • Trigger the devices intended for enrollment (e.g., control panel, detectors, keyfobs).
    • Successful enrollment is indicated by an alarm sound output.
    • The siren can enroll a maximum of 60 wireless devices.
  • Deleting Enrolled Devices:
    • Press both "SAVE" and "CLR" buttons simultaneously.
    • The LED will turn off after lighting on for several seconds, then light on again.
    • Release both buttons to delete all enrolled devices.
  • LED Indicator: When powered on, the LED will wink non-regularly. If it winks regularly, it may indicate a weak radio signal due to long distance or interference.

Maintenance Features:

  • Battery: The device includes a 7.2V, 1.0 Ah backup battery.
  • Disposal: Batteries should be disposed of safely according to local regulations. The product itself, although free of harmful materials, should be returned to the dealer or producer after usage.

Important Notes:

  • The siren mounting location should not be easily accessible.
  • Select a proper mounting location that ensures good communication and easy power supply.
  • Refer to the system installation manual for instructions on enrolling wireless items.
  • When enrolled to a control panel, the siren confirms enrollment with a short sound signal.
  • Warning: The control panel must be in programming or user mode before making any changes to the siren. Unauthorized changes will trigger an alarm. The manufacturer is not liable for consequences caused by incorrect installation or improper use.
