STARTING & STOPPING
INSTRUCTIONS: AIRLIFT
BLOWERS
Place edger or tiller on ground in horizontal position. See Fig. 55 below.
COLD START
1. Switch ignition switch ON (Fig. 56). Engine starts at idle.
2. Slide choke lever to full choke ON position in Fig.57.
3. Press and release the primer bulb 6 -10 times. For first time
starting of new unit, press primer bulb twenty times to remove all
air from carburettor.
4. Make sure you have a firm footing. Hold down motor with left
hand. With right hand pull the starter grip slowly until you feel it
engage – and then give it a quick pull.
5. When engine starts to run allow it to run on half choke for a few
seconds to warm up , then push choke off to engine run
position .
6. Throttle Trigger (engine accelerator control) is operated by pushing
down interlock with thumb and pulling on trigger (Fig.56).
WARM OR HOT START
7. Switch ignition on and follow instructions 3 & 4 only (no choke).
FLOODED ENGINE
8. Ignition ON, choke lever OFF in run position .
9. Pull starter rope up to 10 times to clear excess fuel.

10. If engine has excesive fuel that cannot be
cleared, remove spark plug from engine
and from spark plug terminal,
crank engine to clear excess
fuel, wipe and dry spark plug
of all fuel, re-install spark plug,
terminal, and retsart as above.
Otherwise allow to stand for
30 minutes before restarting.

Honda powered Blowers start
on idle, run and stop in a similar
manner.
COLD START
1. Press and release the primer
bulb 6-10 times. (20 times if
first time for new unit) Slide
choke to full CHOKE ON
position. Fig. 57.
2. Place foot next to lower handle and hold upper handle
down firmly with left hand. With right hand pull the starter grip
slowly until you feel it engage – and then give it a quick pull.
When engine starts to run allow it to run on half choke for a few
seconds to warm up , then push choke off (position ) for
engine to run.
HOT START
As above in 2.
CRUISE CONTROL
To use cruise control pull
throttle trigger and move
cruise control rearward.
To release cruise control
move lever forward to

IDLE
All engine types fitted to Atom Drills start and stop in a similar
manner. Please follow instructions above for starting gasoline Edgers
and Tillers with the exception of Clause 6.
Switch ignition switch ON.
Place Engine Drill on clear ground. Hold down firmly with left hand
on top of motor. With right hand on recoil starter handle pull rope
until firm, then give it a fast pull. The Engine will start on idle.
To increase engine
speed twist rear
throttle handle
(anti-clockwise)
Switch OFF ignition
switch to stop engine.
Place CUP OF HAND
UNDER throttle handle
to operate throttle.

Warm up engine
for one minute
before drilling.
