What does error code E2 mean on my ATS Water Filtration Systems?
    • A
      Andrea FischerSep 12, 2025
If your ATS Water Filtration System displays error E2, Err – 1002, or Err – 102, indicating the control valve motor ran too short and stalled, it could be due to foreign material lodged in the control valve. Open the valve and inspect the piston and seal/stack assembly. Mechanical binding could also be the cause; check the piston, seal/stack assembly, reduction gears, and drive bracket interface. If the main drive gear is too tight, loosen it. Also, verify that proper voltage is being supplied to the PC Board. After addressing these potential issues, press the NEXT and REGEN buttons for 3 seconds to resynchronize the software, or disconnect the power supply from the PC Board for 5 seconds and reconnect.

What to do if my ATS Water Filtration Systems control valve doesn't regenerate automatically?
    • J
      Jacob ParkerAug 25, 2025
If your ATS Water Filtration System's control valve only regenerates when you manually press and hold the button(s), but not automatically, consider these potential causes: * The bypass valve might be in the bypass position; turn the bypass handles to the service position. * The meter may not be connected to the meter connection on the PC Board; connect it to the three-pin connection labeled METER. * The meter turbine could be restricted or stalled; remove the meter and check for rotation or obstructions. * The programming might be incorrect; check for errors. * The meter wire might not be securely installed in the three-pin connector; verify its connection. * The meter or PC board itself could be defective, requiring replacement.

Why does my ATS Water Filtration Systems control valve regenerate at the wrong time?
    • M
      Mark MillerAug 27, 2025
If your ATS Water Filtration System's control valve regenerates at the wrong time, it could be due to several reasons. If there was a power outage, reset the time of day. If your PC board has a battery backup, the battery may be depleted. Also, the time of day might not be set correctly, so reset it. The regeneration time itself could be set incorrectly; if so, reset it as well. Finally, check if the control valve is set to "on 0" (immediate regeneration) or "NORMAL + on 0" (delayed and/or immediate) and reset it to NORMAL for a delayed regeneration time.

What causes excessive water in the regenerant tank of my ATS Water Filtration Systems?
    • C
      Candice WarrenAug 28, 2025
If you find excessive water in the regenerant tank of your ATS Water Filtration System, consider these possibilities: Improper program settings may be the cause; check the refill setting. A plugged injector could be the issue; remove and clean or replace it. Ensure the drive cap assembly is properly tightened. A damaged seal/stack assembly may also be responsible, requiring replacement. Check the drain line for restrictions, kinks, or debris, and correct as necessary. Finally, a plugged or missing refill flow controller can cause this issue; clean or replace if plugged, or replace if missing.

Why is water constantly running to the drain in my ATS Water Filtration Systems?
    • W
      wardchristopherAug 29, 2025
If water is constantly running to the drain in your ATS Water Filtration System, it might be due to a power outage during regeneration; the control will finish the cycle upon power restoration, so reset the time of day. Alternatively, a damaged seal/stack assembly or piston assembly failure could be the cause, requiring replacement. Also, make sure the drive cap assembly is properly tightened.

Why does my ATS Water Filtration Systems control valve use too much regenerant?
    • J
      Jacob SandovalAug 31, 2025
If your ATS Water Filtration System's control valve uses too much regenerant, it could be due to an improper refill setting, so check it. Also, improper program settings specific to your water quality and application needs might be the cause, so verify those as well. Finally, frequent regeneration due to leaking fixtures or an undersized system could lead to excessive regenerant use.

Why is my ATS Water Filtration System delivering hard water?
    • C
      Christine CrawfordNov 20, 2025
If you're getting hard or untreated water from your ATS Water Filtration System, several factors could be the cause. First, ensure the bypass valve is fully closed or replace it if faulty. High water usage can exhaust the media; check program settings for abnormal water usage. A meter that isn't registering can also be the problem; remove it to check for rotation or obstructions. Fluctuations in water quality may require adjusted program values after testing. Lastly, ensure there's enough regenerant in the tank and that the control properly draws it in. Also, check the refill setting in programming and inspect the refill flow control for any restrictions or debris. Other potential causes include a damaged seal/stack assembly (replace it), a mismatch between control valve and piston types (...

What does error E1 mean on my ATS Water Filtration Systems, and how do I fix it?
    • J
      Joel UnderwoodSep 12, 2025
If your ATS Water Filtration System displays error E1, Err – 1001, or Err – 101, indicating the control can't sense motor movement, first disconnect power. Ensure the motor is fully engaged and check for broken wires. Make sure the two-pin connector on the motor is connected to the corresponding connection on the PC Board labeled MOTOR. Then, press the NEXT and REGEN buttons for 3 seconds to resynchronize the software, or disconnect the power supply from the PC Board for 5 seconds and reconnect. Also, check that the PC Board is properly snapped into the drive bracket. Finally, inspect for and replace any missing reduction gears.

What to do if my ATS Water Filtration Systems control valve won't regenerate even when pressing the buttons?
    • A
      April RuizSep 9, 2025
If your ATS Water Filtration System's control valve doesn't regenerate, even when you press and hold the correct buttons, it could be due to a broken drive gear or drive cap assembly, which would need replacement. Another possibility is a broken piston rod, also requiring replacement. Finally, the PC Board itself could be defective.

Why is my ATS Water Filtration Systems delivering residual regenerant to service?
    • T
      Timothy AndersonSep 6, 2025
If your ATS Water Filtration System is delivering residual regenerant to the service line, it could be due to low water pressure; ensure it remains at a minimum of 25 psi. An incorrect injector size might also be the cause; replace it with the correct size for your application. Lastly, a restricted drain line can cause this issue; check for restrictions or debris and clean it.
