Overview

The Audeze Euclid is a high-end, closed-back planar magnetic in-ear headphone designed to deliver exceptional sound quality in a portable and comfortable form factor. It integrates advanced planar magnetic technology with an innovative acoustic design, aiming to provide a light, comfortable-to-wear headphone with astounding sound. The Euclid is suitable for audiophiles and users seeking a premium in-ear listening experience.

Function Description

The Audeze Euclid functions as a personal audio device, specifically an in-ear headphone, utilizing planar magnetic technology. Unlike traditional dynamic drivers, planar magnetic drivers use a thin, flat diaphragm with embedded conductors suspended in a magnetic field. This design allows for a more uniform force across the diaphragm, resulting in lower distortion, faster transient response, and a more accurate sound reproduction. The Euclid incorporates Audeze's patented Fluxor™ Magnetic arrays, which enhance power efficiency, and Fazor™ elements, which guide sound waves to reduce resonance and improve clarity. The ultra-thin diaphragms feature Audeze's Uniforce™ Voice-Coil technology, further contributing to the headphone's precise and detailed sound. Being a closed-back design, the Euclid offers passive noise isolation, helping to block out external distractions and keep your music private. This makes it suitable for use in various environments, from quiet home listening to noisy commutes. The in-ear form factor ensures portability and a snug fit for personal audio enjoyment on the go.

Usage Features

The Euclid is designed for ease of use and compatibility with a wide range of audio sources. It connects to devices via audiophile-grade cables with MMCX connectors, allowing for flexibility in cable choice. Audeze provides cables for commonly used connection types, and most aftermarket cables with MMCX connectors can also be used.

Connecting Your Headphones: To connect the cables, users should identify the Left (Blue) and Right (Red) indicators on the MMCX cable ends and match them to the corresponding L and R indicators on the headphones. The connectors should be pressed firmly until they click and lock into place. For removal, both connectors should be held firmly and pulled straight out until the cable detaches. It is important to pull the connectors themselves, not the cable, to avoid damage.

Ear Tip Selection and Fit: The sound quality and comfort of the Euclid are significantly influenced by the choice and fit of the ear tips. A proper fit ensures greater comfort, better isolation, improved bass response, and a more accurate tonal balance. Audeze provides multiple types and sizes of ear tips to accommodate different ear canal shapes. Users are advised to start with the smallest tip and gradually try larger sizes until a comfortable fit with a good seal is achieved, ensuring the headphones stay in place even with head movement. To change ear tips, simply pull the installed tip straight off and push the replacement tip straight onto the eartube until it snaps into place over the tube's ridge.

Inserting the Earpiece: To insert the Euclid earpiece into the ear canal, position the earpiece with the Audeze logo slightly sideways. Gently press inward while rotating it backwards until the logo is right-side up and the earpiece rests comfortably in the bowl of the ear. The cable should then be looped over the top and back of the ear for a secure fit. A video guide is available for visual assistance on achieving the best fit.

Amplification: While the Euclid performs well with smartphones, tablets, and portable players, its sound quality can be dramatically enhanced when paired with a high-quality headphone amplifier. This suggests that while it is efficient enough for portable devices, it can scale up in performance with dedicated amplification.

Safety Guidelines: Users are advised to listen at safe volume levels to prevent irreparable hearing damage. Volume levels are subjective, so it's recommended to reduce the volume on the source device before listening and gradually increase it to a desired, safe level. Due to the permanent magnets within the Euclid, a distance of at least 8 inches (20cm) should be maintained between the headphones and cardiac pacemakers, implanted defibrillators, or other medical devices. The product, accessories, and packaging should be kept out of reach of children, as the Euclid is not intended for children under 12 years of age.

Maintenance Features

Proper care and maintenance ensure the longevity and optimal performance of the Audeze Euclid.

Storage: Always store the Euclid headphones in their protective case when not in use. The case should be kept closed and stored in a dry environment to protect the headphones from dust and physical damage. Avoid storing the headphones in extreme heat, cold, or humidity, as these conditions can potentially damage the internal components. Exposure to liquids or harsh chemicals should also be avoided.

Cleaning: Regular maintenance primarily involves cleaning the ear tips. While general cleaning of the headphones is not explicitly required beyond an occasional wipe with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth, the ear tips benefit from more thorough cleaning. For best results, ear tips should be removed from the headphones, washed in warm soapy water, rinsed thoroughly in cool water, and then dried with a lint-free cloth before reattaching.

Cable Handling: When disconnecting the Euclid headphones from a music player, users should always hold the plug at the end of the cable and pull to disconnect, rather than pulling on the cable itself. This practice prevents strain and potential damage to the cable and connectors.

Product Registration: To receive information, updates, and news, users are encouraged to register their product on the Audeze website (www.audeze.com/apps/product-registration). It is important to keep the Serial Number card in a safe place, as it will be required for any service requests or warranty claims. This ensures that users can easily access support and warranty services when needed.
