Winter -grade diesel
Diesel fuel can thicken in winter. For this rea-
son petrol stations in some countries also of-
fer winter diesel.
CD CAUTION
- The vehicle is not designed for the use of
biodiesel (FAME fuel) . The fue l system
would be damaged if you used biodiesel.

Do not mix fuel additives ("thinners",
petro l or similar additives) with the die-
se l fuel.

If poor-quality diesel fuel is used, it may
be necessary
to have the water separa-
tor 1> on the fuel filter drained more fre-
quently than is specified in the Service
Schedule. This
helps to prevent potential
engine faults c.=> poge 24.

Never pour fuel down drains or i nto the
ground.

The flap that covers the tank cap is unlocked
and tocked automat ically by the centra l tock-
ing .
Unscrewing the tank cap
"" Press the left side of the flap to open it

"" Unscrew the tank cap anti-clockwise.

Closing the tank cap
"" Screw on the tank cap clockwise until it
clicks audibly.
"" Close the tank flap. Make sure you hear it
click into place.
When the automat ic fi ller nozzle is operated
correctly it will sw i tch itself off as soon as the
tank is "full". Do not try to put in more fuel af-
ter the nozzle cuts out, as this will fi ll the ex-
pansion chamber in the fuel tank .
The
correct fuel grade for your vehicle is given
on a sticker on the in side of the tank fLap. Fur-
ther notes on fuel ¢ page 209 .
The tank capacity of your vehicle is given in
the Technical data section ¢page 2 73.
