Overview

The Audio2000'S® AMX7312 is a professional six-channel audio mixer with a built-in DSP processor, designed to provide comprehensive audio mixing capabilities for various applications. This mixer is engineered for optimal sound quality and user-friendly operation, making it suitable for both amateur and professional use.

Function Description

The AMX7312 serves as a central hub for managing multiple audio inputs and outputs. It features six channels, including two mono microphone/line inputs and two stereo line inputs, alongside dedicated USB and tape/CD inputs. This allows for a wide range of audio sources to be connected simultaneously, such as microphones, musical instruments, CD players, and USB devices. The mixer's primary function is to combine these diverse audio signals, allowing users to adjust their individual levels, tonal characteristics, and effects before routing them to various output destinations.

A key feature of the AMX7312 is its integrated DSP (Digital Signal Processor), which provides built-in effects such as reverberation. This eliminates the need for external effects units, simplifying setup and enhancing portability. The mixer also includes a 3-band ultra-musical EQ on all channels, enabling precise tonal shaping of each input signal. This EQ allows users to boost or cut high, mid, and low frequencies, ensuring that each audio source sits perfectly within the mix.

For microphone inputs, the mixer offers a balanced XLR connection and switchable +48V phantom power, essential for condenser microphones. Unbalanced 1/4" TS jacks are provided for line inputs, accommodating instruments and other audio devices. Additionally, insert jacks are available on the mono channels, allowing for the integration of external line devices like gates, compressors, equalizers, or additional reverb effects directly into the signal path of individual channels.

The mixer's output section includes stereo main outputs (1/4" TS jacks) for connecting to power amplifiers or active speakers. A dedicated stereo output (1/4" TRS jack) is provided for monitoring with earphones, allowing users to listen to the mix privately. Send and return jacks (1/4" TS jacks) offer further flexibility, enabling the mixer to send a monitoring signal to an external amplifier or active speaker, or to integrate external sound sources into the mix. These send/return jacks can also be used to insert external line devices into the overall signal path for global effects processing.

The built-in MP3 player supports various music formats and features an LED display to show the playing status. This allows users to play background music or pre-recorded tracks directly from a USB device, adding versatility to live performances or events.

Usage Features

The AMX7312 is designed with intuitive controls for ease of use. Each channel is equipped with a [GAIN] control knob to adjust the input signal level, ensuring optimal signal-to-noise ratio. [PEAK] LED indicators on all channels provide visual feedback, blinking when the input signal level approaches clipping, prompting users to reduce the gain to maintain sound quality. [LEVEL] control knobs allow for fine-tuning of the audio volume for each channel.

The 3-band EQ on each channel features [HIGH] (treble-tone), [MID] (alto-tone), and [LOW] (bass-tone) control knobs, offering a wide range of tonal adjustments. The [FX] control knob on each channel allows users to adjust the level of the signal routed to the internal DSP processor for effects.

The stereo and auxiliary channels provide additional input options. Stereo input jacks (1/4" TS) are available for channels 3/4 and 5/6, allowing for stereo instruments or devices. The mixer intelligently handles mono signals on these stereo channels; if only one 1/4" TS plug is connected, the mono signal is routed to both left and right channels simultaneously. Tape/CD stereo RCA input jacks further expand connectivity for external audio sources.

The main control section features a stereo signal level meter with green, yellow, and red LED lights, providing a clear visual representation of the main output signal level. The red POWER LED indicator confirms that the unit is powered on. A [STEREO] level fader allows for precise adjustment of the overall main output volume. Dedicated control knobs for [DELAY] and [REPEAT] allow users to fine-tune the depth and repetition times of the built-in reverberation effect. An [FX LEVEL] control knob adjusts the overall volume of the reverberation effect. A [PHONES] level control knob is provided for adjusting the earphone monitoring volume.

The USB module offers convenient playback controls, including a [PLAY/PAUSE] button, [PREV] button to skip to the previous track, and [NEXT] button to skip to the next track. The USB insert allows for direct connection of USB devices.

Maintenance Features

The AMX7312 is constructed with a rugged steel chassis, ensuring durability and protection against physical damage, making it suitable for frequent transport and use in various environments. Sealed rotary control knobs are incorporated to resist dust and grime, contributing to the longevity and consistent performance of the controls.

For internal heat management, the mixer is designed with adequate air circulation in mind. Users are advised not to block ventilation openings and to install the unit away from heat sources to prevent overheating. The multi-voltage power supply ensures compatibility for worldwide use, simplifying power management when traveling.

In terms of safety, the mixer adheres to important safety instructions, including precautions against exposure to rain or moisture, and recommendations for proper grounding and ventilation. The lightning flash and exclamation point symbols on the device indicate important safety information and the need for qualified service personnel for internal repairs.

Should any liquid or solid object fall into the cabinet, users are instructed to unplug the unit immediately and have it checked by qualified personnel before further operation. In case of shipping damage, users are advised to notify the delivery company and retain the damaged carton for inspection. For factory service, an Audio2000'S® Return Authorization number is required, and the unit should be shipped prepaid in its original carton with proof of purchase and a detailed description of the problem.

The limited warranty covers defects in material and workmanship for one year from the date of purchase, with H&F Technologies, Incorporated, offering repair or replacement. However, the warranty does not cover damage due to alteration, misuse, neglect, accident, improper installation, or normal wear and tear. This comprehensive approach to design, construction, and service support aims to provide a reliable and long-lasting audio mixing solution.
