Overview

The Auris bluMe Duo is a high-fidelity Bluetooth music transmitter and receiver designed to seamlessly integrate into new and existing TV setups, car audio, or HiFi stereo systems. It adds HiFi Bluetooth streaming capabilities for headphones, speakers, phones, and other devices. Featuring analog and digital connections for universal compatibility, audio bypass, and extended Bluetooth range, the bluMe Duo serves as a versatile audio accessory for home and car audio.

Function Description:

The bluMe Duo operates in two primary modes: Transmitter (TX) and Receiver (RX).

  • Transmitter (TX) Mode: In this mode, the bluMe Duo wirelessly streams audio from an audio source (such as a TV, CD player, or game console) to any Bluetooth audio receiver, including Bluetooth headphones, speakers, or soundbars. It supports pairing with up to two Bluetooth headphones simultaneously, allowing two users to listen to the same audio source.
  • Receiver (RX) Mode: In RX mode, the bluMe Duo receives audio signals wirelessly from any Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, computer, or tablet and passes that signal to the input of an amplification device like a home stereo, active bookshelf speaker, or car audio system.
  • Bypass Mode: When used as a transmitter with a TV, the bluMe Duo's audio output can be used as a bypass to connect another device, such as a speaker or soundbar. This feature allows both the bluMe Duo and a soundbar/speaker to be plugged into a TV that has only one audio output. The bypass feature is specifically designed to work when the TV is connected to the bluMe Duo via the Optical Input and does not function via AUX.

This allows for flexible placement while avoiding obstruction of TV or audio devices.

  • Multiple Connection Options:

  • Pairing Process:
    • TX Mode Pairing: Place Bluetooth headphones/speakers within 1 meter (3 feet) and set them to pairing mode. Press and hold the MFB on bluMe Duo until "Searching..." appears on the display. Double-press the MFB to select the device from the display. The device name and a "₁" or "₂" icon (for first or second paired device) will indicate successful pairing.
    • RX Mode Pairing: Turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone/tablet/computer and go to Bluetooth preferences. Scan for "bluMe Duo" and select it to pair. The display will show "Connected" upon successful pairing.
  • Audio Input Source Selection: Users can select between Optical ("OPT") and AUX audio sources using a toggle switch, ensuring the correct input matches the connected cable.
  • Reconnection: The bluMe Duo can remember up to two previously paired devices and attempts to automatically reconnect to the last connected devices when turned back on. For successful reconnection, it is recommended to turn on the bluMe Duo first, then the paired devices.
  • Volume Adjustment: The bluMe Duo is a passive transmitter/receiver and does not have its own volume control. Volume levels must be adjusted via the input and output sources (e.g., TV, headphones, smartphone, stereo system). For optimal audio quality, it is recommended to maximize the volume on the audio source and adjust via the Bluetooth-enabled headphones, speakers, or smartphone.
  • CVC Microphone: The device includes a CVC microphone, although its specific function in the context of a transmitter/receiver is not detailed in the provided manual, it typically implies noise cancellation for voice communication.

Maintenance Features:

  • Charging: The device charges automatically when plugged in with the included USB-C to USB charging cable and power adapter. The OLED display shows the charging indicator. It is recommended to fully charge the adapter before first use and to charge the bluMe Duo at least once every 3 months if not in use for a long time. The device can be used while charging.
  • Factory Reset: With the bluMe Duo powered OFF, pressing and holding the MFB for approximately 10 seconds will initiate a factory reset, clearing all previously paired devices from its memory and entering pairing mode.
  • Safety Instructions:
    • Keep the product dry to avoid affecting internal circuitry.
    • Avoid direct sunlight or hot areas, as high temperatures can shorten the device's lifespan.
    • Do not expose to extreme temperatures to prevent damage to the internal circuit board.

These tips include checking Bluetooth mode, pairing range, audio input/output selections, volume levels, and potential interference sources. For optical connections, ensuring TV audio output settings are set to PCM is crucial.
  • Warranty: The bluMe Duo is covered by a warranty, with details available on the manufacturer's website. The device complies with FCC rules, and any unauthorized modifications could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
