Safety features of the bed
There are various safety features built into the
bed:
The key to isolate the operation. This should
be turned and removed to prevent unwanted
operation.
Two limit switches, one high and one low. If
the user depresses and holds a button for a
longer time than that required for the bed
to travel its full extent, a protection device
takes over and disables the movement to
protect the motor.
Fusing of the 12V power supply to the
bed. If the bed mechanism encounters
any resistance caused by an obstacle or
over loading of the bed, the 20amp fuse
protecting the bed circuit will blow. This
fuse is normally located close to the leisure
battery.
The bed-lifting mechanism should only be
operated by adults.
In case of emergency
The electric motor of the bed is fitted with a
hexagonal nut which allows manual movement
of the bed should the leisure battery have
insucient voltage. The bed can be operated
manually by simply inserting a 13mm socket
through the access hole in the base of the
o-side locker and turning either clockwise
or anticlockside depending on the direction of
travel required.
Notes on upper bunks
Upper bunks are for sleeping only, with
protection against falling out in position. Care
should be taken against the risk of falling out
when this bunk is used by children, and we would
advise that the upper bunks are not suitable
for children under six years of age without
supervision.
