This document describes the AVINTAGE built-in column service wine cellar, models AVI47XDZA, AVI48CDZA, AVI81XDZA, and AVI82CDZA.
Function Description
This appliance is designed exclusively for domestic use and is intended for the storage of special drink products, specifically wine, at a storage temperature higher than that of a compartment for fresh products. It is not intended to keep food products fresh. The wine cellar allows you to bring your bottles to room temperature or to their ideal serving temperature, thanks to its wide adjustment range.
Important Technical Specifications
The appliance operates on a single-phase alternating current of 220-240V/50Hz. The refrigerating circuit uses isobutane (R600a), a highly flammable natural gas that is dangerous for the environment. The type of refrigerant is specified on the power cabinet identification plate. The appliance is designed to operate in ambient temperatures specified by its temperature class, which is marked on the rating plate. The temperature range for this cellar is between 5°C and 18°C in each zone.
The maximum capacity of the wine cellar is calculated with a defined number of shelves, which varies by model. For AVI47XDZA and AVI48CDZA, the maximum capacity is calculated with 4 shelves. For AVI81XDZA and AVI82CDZA, the maximum capacity is calculated with 8 shelves. This standard capacity is based on 75cl traditional Bordeaux type bottles. Any other bottle size or the addition of shelves will significantly reduce the storage capacity. The capacity of the wine cellar is measured according to the EN62552 standard.
The appliance is equipped with light-emitting diodes (LEDs) for interior lighting. These LEDs are not user-replaceable and have a long lifespan.
Usage Features
- Temperature Control: The appliance features an electronic thermostat that allows temperature adjustment between 5°C and 18°C. For wine storage, a setting of 12°C is recommended, but this can be adapted based on the type of wine. Setting the temperature above 12°C reduces energy consumption, while setting it below 12°C increases it. Some models allow different temperature levels within the same cellar. The appliance maintains the set temperature under normal operating conditions.
- Temperature Display: The control panel displays the selected temperature. To view the actual cellar temperature, press button 4 for 5 seconds. The actual temperature is for information only and cannot be adjusted; it may deviate by +/- 2°C from the selected temperature due to cooling phases. The display will flash if the zone temperature deviates by more than 5°C from the programmed temperature, indicating a potential issue.
- Lighting: The indoor LED light can be switched on or off by pressing button 1. While suitable for wine storage, it is advisable to turn off the light during normal use.
- Door Alarm: An audible alarm and flashing display screens will activate if the door remains incorrectly closed for more than 60 seconds. Closing the door or pressing any control panel button will deactivate the alarm.
- Anti-Vibration System: The refrigeration compressor is equipped with special silent-blocks, and the inner cabinet is insulated with polyurethane foam to prevent vibration transmission to the wines.
- Anti-UV System: Glass-door models are specially treated to filter harmful ultraviolet rays, protecting wines from accelerated aging. Solid-door models naturally protect wines, provided the door is not opened too frequently.
- Shelves: To prevent damage to the door seal, ensure the door is fully open before pulling out shelves. Shelves can be slid out approximately one-third of the way for easier access and are fitted with stops to prevent bottles from falling. To remove or reposition shelves, align the wooden shelf notch with the plastic post and lift.
- Loading: Store wine in sealed bottles and avoid overloading the cabinet. Do not cover shelves with aluminum foil or other materials that obstruct air circulation.
- Power On/Off: To switch the wine cellar on or off, press buttons 1 and 2 simultaneously.
- Temperature Unit Change: To change the temperature reading unit (°C or °F), press the light button (1) for 5 seconds.
Maintenance Features
- General Cleaning: Before any maintenance, disconnect the appliance from the power supply. Clean the interior and exterior surfaces with lukewarm water and a mild cleaning product. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly before reconnecting. Do not use solvents, abrasive agents, metal objects, steam systems, volatile fluids, or flammable products for cleaning.
- Defrosting: The appliance has an automatic defrost cycle. Defrost water is collected in an evaporation tray at the back of the appliance, near the compressor, and evaporated by the heat produced by the compressor.
- Condenser Cleaning: To ensure optimal operation and limit electricity consumption, periodically clean the condenser.
- Door Seal Inspection: Regularly inspect the door seals to ensure they close properly. If not, contact after-sales service.
- Long-Term Storage: If the appliance will not be used for several months, remove all contents, turn off and unplug the appliance, clean and dry the interior thoroughly, and leave the door slightly ajar (blocked if necessary) to prevent odors and mold.
- Moving the Appliance: Before moving, remove all contents, secure loose items (shelves), screw the adjustable feet fully into their base, and tape the door shut. Transport the appliance in an upright position and protect it with a blanket or similar item.
- Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues, such as the wine cooler not operating, not cooling sufficiently, frequent on/off cycling, light not working, vibrations, excessive noise, door not closing properly, LED display errors, fan malfunctions, and various error codes (E1-E9, EA, Lo, HI, EU, DOOR). For electrical work or damaged power cables, contact a qualified technician or authorized service center.
- Light Replacement: The LED lights are not user-replaceable. If defective, contact after-sales service.
