Sharpening wedge
After using the log splitters for some time, sharpen the wedge of the log splitter using a fine-
toothed file and smooth any burrs or crushed area along the cutting edge.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem Cause Solution
Motor does not
start.
- No current in the socket.
- Switch or capacitor defective
- Check the mains fuse.
- Have checked by electrician.
When the opera-
tion handles are
pushed down the
wedge does not
move.
- Low hydraulic oil level. - Check and refill hydraulic oil.
Log splitter does
not work while
motor is running.
- Valve is not opened owing to
the connection parts loosen-
ing.
- Control levers or connection
parts bent.
- Low hydraulic oil level.
- Check and tighten the parts.
- Repair the bent parts.
- Check and refill hydraulic oil.
Hydraulic hoses
heat up.
- Low oil level.
- Wrong valve setting.
- Broken pump.
- Check and refill hydraulic oil.
- Adjust the valve.
- Change the pump.
Log splitter works
with abnormal
vibration and
noise.
- Low hydraulic oil level. - Check and refill hydraulic oil.
