This document provides instructions for the Awnlux W5900 Motorhome Awning, available in both manual and motorized with crank handle versions. The awning is designed to extend from a motorhome, providing shade and shelter.
Function Description
The Awnlux W5900 Motorhome Awning serves as an extendable shade solution for motorhomes. It can be operated manually or via a motorized system with an additional crank handle for backup. The awning extends and retracts, offering a comfortable outdoor space adjacent to the vehicle. The design incorporates support poles that are hidden within the awning's front bar when retracted, ensuring a sleek appearance.

For motorized versions, the wiring involves four wires connected to the switch and the motor. The power supply for the motor and LED light requires a positive and negative connection. The motor cable connects to the motor, and the LED light cable needs a parallel connection.
Usage Features
Installation:
- Qualified Personnel: Installation should be carried out by qualified persons.
- Vehicle Body Strength: The installation area on the vehicle body must be strengthened. If not adequately strong, the RV factory should be consulted for reinforcement.
- Standard Bracket Configuration: The awning is configured with standard brackets. If special fixture structure is needed, custom options should be considered.
- Marking Installation Points: Mark the installation points on the vehicle body according to the awning brackets position sketch. Ensure all brackets are in the same straight line and at the same installation level.
- Fixing Brackets: Secure the brackets. For awnings larger than 4 meters, four brackets are required. If the distance between brackets is the same from one bracket to the other, use the correct brackets quantity to install the awning. Ensure the carriage bolts are tightened, and the nuts are secured after adjusting for proper fitting.
- Hanging the Awning: Hang the awning on the brackets and adjust it to the proper position. If the mounting position is not vertical, a spacer should be added between the mounting bracket and the vehicle body to ensure vertical installation and normal awning operation.
- Locking the Awning: Before fixing the awning locking screw, open the awning until the internal mechanism is visible. Check the bracket positions and use the M5 bolt to lock the brackets and the awning. Note that the awning must be opened for this step. Only one screw is necessary on both sides of the brackets for installation. Ensure the brackets hold the back-plate where the arm joints are settled and all brackets are aligned.
Motorized Operation (W5900 Motorized and Crank handle):
- Switch Installation: Cut holes on the car according to the switch bottom shell measurements.
- Wiring: Four wires are present at the end of the switch.
- LED Light: Wiring (-) and (+) for the power cord connect to the car power supply. Wiring and wiring for the motor connect to the motor cable. Wiring and wiring for controlling the motor and LED light connect to the motor and LED light cable (motor and LED light cable need parallel connection).
- Switch Instructions:
- Without LED light:
- OPEN: Open the awning.
- OFF: Awning will stop when the button is released, no matter how far the awning extends/retracts.
- CLOSE: Close the awning.
- With LED light:
- OPEN: Open the awning.
- OFF: Awning will stop when the button is released, no matter how far the awning extends/retracts.
- Turn off the LED lights.
- CLOSE: Close the awning.
General Usage:
- Legs: To avoid unnecessary strain on the vehicle side, extend the legs about 1 meter from the opening. Grasp the leg near its hinge joint and pull it towards you. Unhook the leg and pull out the leg as shown in the figure. After extending the awning completely, adjust the legs to the proper height.
- Wind Gusts: To prevent the awning from being lifted up by unexpected gusts of wind, secure the legs to the ground with provided pegs. In case of strong winds, seek professional advice.
- Support Legs: To fasten the support legs to the vehicle, place the leg-shoes into the wall brackets. The brackets can be fixed only in reinforced points. The wall brackets installation position can be adjusted according to the tilt angle of the awning.
- Retracting: When moving the RV or during outdoor activities, ensure the awning is closed completely. Rewinding the fabric may cause damage to the fabric, and the awning will not be able to be closed completely.
- Sun Protection: The awning is primarily for sun protection. Roll up the awning during rain, wind, or snow. Special function fabric may be offered as required.
- Installation Height: The awning has to be installed on the flat area of the vehicle roof within a certain height. This height allows the legs to be placed on the ground perfectly.
- Support Poles: Pull the support poles out from the hook, rotate them, and keep them standing on the ground. Adjust the support poles height as needed.
- Pegs: Standard pegs are 4 pieces. For increased stability, extra pegs and rope can be purchased separately.
- Fabric Retracting Direction: Retract the fabric according to the provided picture when closing the awning to prevent damage.
Maintenance Features
Troubleshooting Awning Adjustment:
- Arms and Fabric Adjustment: Over time, the awning arms may lower. Re-adjustment is necessary. For arms and fabric adjustments, use ONLY the shown top bolt.
- Re-positioning: Turn the nut (a) LEFT/RIGHT for perfect re-positioning. Ensure the front profile comes out horizontally in line with the main part of the awning (same distance left and right side).
Troubleshooting Motorized Awning (Open/Close Issues):
If the awning cannot open or close completely, adjust using the green stick:
- Awning not opening completely: Adjust the upper hole in the "+" direction.
- Awning fabric completely open, but motor still working: Adjust the upper hole in the "-" direction.
- Awning not closing completely: Adjust the bottom hole in the "+" direction.
- Awning fabric completely closed, but motor still working: Adjust the upper hole in the "-" direction.
Adjustment Attention: All adjustments should be slight, starting with 0.5-1 rounds. Test the awning's functionality and make further slight adjustments until it works perfectly.
