Operating Controls and Functions

Power Switch Operation

Indicates scanning is in HOLD mode, pausing on occupied channels.

Transmit Indicator (TX)

Lights up when the PTT switch is depressed for transmission.

Priority Indicator (PRI)

Lights up to indicate the unit is in priority mode.

Tone Indicator (TONE)

Indicates tone encoder or decoder is activated.

Busy Indicator (BUSY)

Lights up when receiving signals over the squelch threshold.

Memory Address Indicator

Shows the current memory bank and address (0-9).

Memory Bank Indicator

Shows selected memory bank (A or B) or both for continuous scan.

Memory Mode Indicator (M Mode)

Lights up when the unit is in memory mode for address/scan keys.

Function Indicator (F)

Lights up when the 'F' key is pressed, enabling other key functions.

Control Microphone Connector

How To Use Keyboard

Setting Frequencies

Set or change frequencies using UP/DOWN keys, 5kHz steps by default.

Rapid Channel Change

Hold UP/DOWN keys for rapid frequency changes.

MHz Unit Frequency Change

Use F + UP/DOWN keys to change frequency by 1MHz increments.

Transmit Output Power Change

Use F + H/L keys to select high or low power output.

Setting Shift Width and Direction

Use F + SHIFT key for +/- 600kHz shift, programmable.

Reverse Mode Operation (REV)

Press REV key to swap transmit/receive frequencies for repeaters.

Tone Operation

Activate tone encoder/decoder using F + TONE key.
