Conditions that could decrease remaining assist distance
The remaining power assist distance will faster decrease when riding in the following conditions:
Frequent start and stops
Numerous steep inclines
Poor road surface conditions
Riding into a strong head wind
Low air temperature
Worn-out or aged battery pack
When using the lights during cycling all the time (only applies to models equipped with battery pack
powered headlights)
Frequent acceleration
Heavier combined weight or load on bike, due to rider or additional luggage
Higher assist mode
Higher riding speed
Remaining assist distance will also decrease if the bicycle is not maintained properly. Examples of inadequate
maintenance that could decrease remaining assist distance:
Brake is rubbing
Low tire pressure (between 3.5 - 4 bar)
Chain is not well lubricated and not turning smoothly

3.1 Button description
Power/Light Switch
Function Setting Switch
Assist Mode Up Switch
(Walk Assist Forward)
Assist Mode Down Switch
(Walk Assist Reverse)
Multiple power assist modes
The system supports mode 1 to 8 & walk assist to suit user’s riding conditions.
See “Assist mode switch” for information on switching between assist modes. See ‘Speed Limit’ for the
maximum speed per level.
Mode Mode Number Description
Boost mode Mode 8 Use when climbing steep terrain.
Power mode Mode 5, 6, 7
Use when you want to ride more
comfortably such as when
climbing a steep hill.
Normal mode Mode 3, 4
Use when riding on flat roads or
climbing gentle hills.
Eco mode Mode 1, 2
Use when you want to ride as
far as possible with some
power assist.
Off mode Mode 0
Use when you want to ride without
power assist.
Walk assist mode
Forward: Long press plus button
Reverse: Long press minus button
Use when you are walking your
E-bike, under 6 km/h.
Only the Babboe Max-E cargo bike is equipped with a reverse walk assist mode
