If the gate is expanded too widely, it can be reset by placing it upright on the floor with the logo facing sideways and simultaneously pressing the unlocking levers under the fabric cover to compress it.
Once the gate is positioned and snug, the tensioning process begins. The top tension nuts on both the right and left sides are rotated counter-clockwise until the gate is tight in the door opening. This action applies pressure against the walls, securing the gate in place. The same process is then repeated for the bottom tensioning nuts. The goal is to achieve a tight fit throughout the doorway. For walls without molding, it's recommended to ensure that the top and bottom gaps on each side between the gate and the doorway are equal, indicating an even distribution of tension.
Removing the gate from a doorway for travel or storage is equally simple. The tension nuts at each corner are rotated clockwise until the gate is loose enough to be easily removed. To fold the gate for travel, it is first turned on its side with the logo on the right-hand side. The unlocking levers under the fabric cover on both sides are then pressed simultaneously to compress the gate into a square shape. Next, with the corner hinges facing the user, opposite corners (those without hinges) are folded toward each other until the gate collapses into a "V" shape. If the gate doesn't fold easily, it should be re-expanded and then re-compressed, ensuring it is fully compressed before attempting to fold it again. Finally, the "V" shape is folded further until the corners come together, and a clip is snapped together to secure it in its compact form, ready to be placed in its travel bag for storage.
