- Safety Warnings:
- General: Read all instructions before assembly and use. Keep instructions for future use. Do not use if parts are missing, damaged, or broken.
- Suffocation Hazard: Never use plastic shipping bags or other plastic film as mattress covers. Infants can suffocate in gaps between crib sides and a mattress that is too small. Never add a pillow or comforter, or additional padding under an infant. Pillows and blankets have caused infant suffocation.
- Strangulation Hazard: Do not place items with a string around a child's neck (e.g., hood strings, pacifier cords). Do not suspend strings over a crib or attach strings to toys. Do not place the crib near windows or patio doors where cords from blinds or drapes may strangle a child.
- Fall Hazard: Remove bumper pads, large toys, and other objects that could serve as steps when the child can pull to a standing position. Stop using the crib when the child begins to climb out or reaches 35 inches (89 cm) in height.
- SIDS Prevention: Pediatricians recommend healthy infants be placed on their backs to sleep.
- Crib Integrity: Ensure the crib, including side rails, is fully erected and locked prior to use. Check for damaged hardware, loose joints, bolts, or other fasteners frequently.
- Prohibited Items: Do not place any items in the crib. Never add an accessory such as a bassinet or changing table that extends over the sleeping area.
- Safe Sleep Guidelines (US CPSC):
- Back to Sleep: Always place the baby to sleep on their back to reduce the risk of SUID/SIDS.
- Bare is Best: Keep the baby's sleep space bare (fitted sheet only). Do not use pillows, padded crib bumpers, quilts, or comforters.
- Intended Use: Only place the baby to sleep in a product intended for sleep. Transfer the baby to a crib, bassinet, play yard, or bedside sleeper if the baby falls asleep in a swing, bouncer, lounger, or similar product.
