SAFETY INTERLOCK SYSTEM
Your Bad Boy mower is equipped with a safety interlock system. This system is designed to prevent property
damage and severe injury or death to the operator and bystanders. These interlocks are essential and must be
tested before each use. To test the interlock system, follow the steps below. Note: unless otherwise noted,
the operator must be seated properly on the mower during these tests. Additionally, the mower should
be equipped with charged batteries.
2.66 With the drive arms in the park position and the mower turned off engage the PTO switch. Then turn
the key to the on position. When the mower key is turned on a warning should display on the control
panel and the PTO should not engage.
2.67 With the Mower key off and the drive arms in the drive position switch the mower key to the on position.
When the mower key is turned on a warning should display on the control panel.
2.68 With the key on move the arms to the drive position, adjust the travel speed to level 3 via the control
panel. Then engage the PTO switch. When the PTO switch is engaged a warning should display on the
control panel and the PTO should not engage.
2.69 With the drive arms in park move the mower key to the on position. Allow the mower to turn on
completely. Then move the drive arms to the drive position and begin to slowly rise off the seat. When
the weight is shifted from the seat a warning should appear on the control panel
If the safety interlock system does not operate as described above, an Authorized
Service Dealer must repair this safety system immediately. The mower is unsafe to
operate in this condition.
BATTERY AND CHARGER
2.70 Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to battery pack
2.71 Remove all batteries from the battery compartment before making any adjustments, changing
accessories, or storing mower. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the mower
accidentally.
2.72 Recharge only with the charger specified by Bad Boy. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery
pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
2.73 Use mower only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create
a risk of injury and fire.
2.74 When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys,
nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another.
Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
2.75 Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally
occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the
battery may cause irritation or burns.
2.76 Do not use a battery pack or mower that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may
exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.
2.77 Do not expose a battery pack or mower to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or
temperature above 130°C may cause explosion. The temperature of 130°C can be replaced by the
temperature of 265°F.
