      If the Bard Accessories sensor is disconnected, make sure it is properly connected. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the sensor. If the display power supply is connected to a noisy electrical outlet, disconnect it to run the system on battery power. If the sensor still cannot be detected, call the technical support hotline at (800) 443-3385.

      To resolve a Bard Accessories sensor error, follow these steps: 1. Move all metal objects at least 12 inches (30 cm) away from the sensor. 2. Lower bed rails. 3. Move all active electronic devices at least 5 feet (1.5 m) away. 4. Do not move the sensor and ask the patient to remain still. 5. Calibrate. 6. If the error continues, discontinue use and call the technical support hotline at (800) 443-3385. If the error is due to a sensor malfunction, turn off and restart the system. If the error persists, discontinue use and call the technical support hotline at (800) 443-3385.

    Why is the magnetic navigation stylet icon behaving erratically on my Bard Sherlock 3CG TCS Accessories?

      If the Bard Accessories magnetic navigation stylet icon has erratic behavior, pull the catheter back until the stylet icon is stable and verify the catheter is moving in the correct direction. If there is magnetic interference or too much time has passed since calibration, pull the catheter tip back at least 12 inches (30 cm) from the sensor, recalibrate, and re-advance the catheter.

      If the Bard Accessories magnetic navigation stylet icon disappears and a "sweeping magnifying glass" is displayed, pull the catheter back until the stylet icon is stable and verify the catheter is moving in the correct direction using ECG guidance and catheter measurement. If there's magnetic interference or too much time has passed since calibration, pull the catheter tip back at least 12 inches (30 cm) from the sensor, recalibrate, and re-advance the catheter.

      To address a poor ECG signal with Bard Accessories: * Fully seat the fin on the sensor and the stylet connector on the fin. * Ensure the skin where the ECG electrodes are placed is oil-free and dry. * Ask the patient to remain still and ensure they are warm and relaxed. * Unplug the Site~Rite™ 6 Ultrasound System from AC power and ensure the ultrasound probe is not near the sensor or lead wires. * Replace damaged ECG electrodes. * Ensure catheter T-lock connections are fully seated and flush the catheter lumen with saline. * If the black electrode is on the patient’s left shoulder (Lead III view), place it on the patient’s right shoulder (Lead II view).
